A Bounty on the Bay

The first iteration of the party came to Exaldren looking for work, and they found it. They all took on the bounty set by The Merchant's Guild to investigate a case of missing persons occurring in the island off the coast known as The Hunting Grounds.   After receiving the bounty instructions from Archibald Darian (Deceased), the party travelled to the island and sought out Azuha, the Chieftain of the Yuan-Ti tribe natives. While she is hesitant at first, she tells the party there has been strange activity in a cave further into the inland. The party travels to the cave and investigate.   In the deepest part of the cave, the party discovers two individuals performing a ritual around an obsidian altar, prepared to sacrifice a person tied down to the altar. The party kills the cultists and the skeletal creatures they summoned, and manage to save the boy. A half-gnome named Fletcher Lumyar-Beren, they return to Exaldren, and receive their reward. When explaining the events back to Archibald, his fear becomes apparent to the party, and when asked why he explains the party may have witnessed the re-emerging of The Black Hand. A Cult from the Age of Worship with a bloody and treacherous history. He implores them to warn the Kingdom of Valaria, while of course, being sure to include his name. So the Party sets out towards Vyvik, the training grounds of the crown's soldiers, to find a way to gain the King's attention.
