Grandiose Port

The largest port on Greenerth, Grandiose port sits on the southern shores of Caira. It joins together 3 different cities, including Nevaan, the capital of Caira. The port started its construction over a million years ago, at the time it was a simple area for boats to park, and over the million years it has grown into the biggest port on the planet.

Grandiose port is split into several sectors, each reserved for a specific trade and industry.

Fishing

Starting at the farthest west, is the fishing industry. The city on the west side of the port is Euvaria, a large Eustean city. Eusteans eat tons of fish, and therefore the fishing industry is a large part of the port's economy, especially considering the trading that goes on between Euvaria and other Eustean cities.

Coral

The sector east of the fishing industry is the coral industry, the smallest in the port. Coral is popular not just for growing artificial reefs, which is very popular, but also for decoration in homes. Coral is grown on a massive scale, and harvested, delivered to companies who turn them into ornaments, jewelry, and other fancy items.

Shipsmithing

The shipsmithing industry takes up the largest amount of the port, almost a third of it. The shipsmithing sector is located between Euvaria and Nevaan, and involves the construction of many types of commercial and private ships. Cargo ships are built here, and are delivered worldwide.

History

The Grandiose Port began its construction as a mere boat parking area almost 1.2 million years ago. The port was built in Nevaan, as boats containing Centaurs were arriving, with no place to land. Once built, the port was used to take boats out and come back. As the city grew, the port grew along with it. In the centre of the port was a memorial of the first centaur that lived in Nevaan, constructed a year after his death. 560 years after the port was constructed, it expanded over to Euvaria, joining up with their port, and collectively being called Grand Port. The port began to branch out in its trade, manufacturing coral in buildings nearby, catching fish for Eusteans, building boats to sell. For a million years, the port remained as it was, until it grew exponentially in -450, when it joined the east side with Liose port, in Liose, a city east of Nevaan. This formed Grandiose port, which was now officially the biggest port on Greenerth. It gained a large reputation, bringing in lots of money from tourism.
