Archive Historian

The Archive Historian was an extremely prestigious profession associated with managing and preserving the Archives of History, the original documentation compiled and updated by Aeldvari and Duovari in their home territories on Harokin. Specifically for Sol'Aeldvari, lun'Aeldvari, and gran'Duovari, the places on Harokin where their people originated became centers of culture, learning, and preservation of said culture (art, history, science, etc).
Archive Historians were distinct from "standard" historians by dint of being allowed access to the bulk of the Archives; instead of being historians of a specific subject, they were historians of the very Archives themselves, studying the Archives and their contents (and their organizational systems) as a focus.
Of course, after the Shattering, nearly all of the Archives were destroyed; surviving Archive Historians salvaged what they could from the wreckage left behind by rampaging titans before fleeing to safer places, often dying in their exodus. Arcane methods of preservation, which were primary protections for the Aeldvaren Archives and which powered the artifice that protected the Duovaren Archives, were entirely erased with the titans' arcana-absorbing auras that extended for miles past the creatures themselves. Most of the scavenged Archives were ruined almost immediately by exposure to the elements and the ravages of time, as well as flora and fauna, mold and mushrooms.
With the ruination of the Archives came the end to the profession of Archive Historian. The kinvari who survived the initial Shattering on Harokin were struggling to stay alive with each new day, and so history took a backseat to the needs of shelter and sustenance.
