Outside the western gates of Vapore, unprotected from the wilderness, life is harder. Those who live in Westgate can't afford the security given by the high walls of the city, and have to adapt to a chaotic environment in the unlawful slums.

Government
Westgate is part of Vapore, but is often neglected by the government, that enforces law only near the main roads to keep the merchants and travelers safe, but don't move inside the lawless slums.
Industry & Trade
Most of the inhabitants of Westgate work as day workers inside the walls of Vapore, while the luckier ones are artisans. Lot of people still don't have a job, and are beggars who live off the prodigality of those who arrive to or leave Vapore.
Many people who fail to earn enough to survive, give themselves to criminal life, becoming thieves of muggers, and stealing from the weaker ones.
Guilds and Factions
The West Wind is a small organization of kind-hearted criminals who steal from the wealthy inside the walls to help the poorest to survive. They face strong opposition from the city guards, but are usually seen as heroes by the common folk.
The Sons of the Winter Moon are members of a religious organization that has charity among its rules. They usually beg for money in the Market Plaza and distribute food in the poorest zones of Westgate, and use magic to heal the ill for free.
The Gray Syndicate counts many members in Westgate, and has several safehouses and fences in there.
History
Westgate has been complety destroyed by the Army of Penance before the Siege of Vapore in 14021.
Architecture
Near the main roads, the buildings are made of bricks with stone foundations and tiled roof. Further from the streets, the buildings are made of wood or, rarely, bricks, with thatched roofs.
