Onas Eldonnian

Rodriega Showadon's young wood elf boy apprentice. He is a shy, timid boy, but has a bright mind. He helps Rodriega with her rituals and medical work.   Onas lives with his mother, Galira, in a small tenement in the upper layers of the city. They are relatively poor, but Rodriega provides for his clothes, meals, and education.   After meeting Elena, Kilara, Winter, and Finn, he slipped Winter a note that was a call for help, claiming that his master was going to kill him. Later, he explained to them that she had not been teaching him any magic, putting off his training no matter how many times he asked, instead just having him assist her. He also claimed she was oddly obsessed with his health, giving him frequent check ups and inspecting his body regularly for seemingly no reason. That, and her "hungry eyes" have made him think she is out to get him.

Personal history

Onas was born a slave in the city of Azur-Nethal long before the Empire was established. His family was one of many the Empire's founding liberated and gave a better life. After the annexation of Brekor by the Empire, his family moved to Karlodar, a fast-growing mining town, in search of opportunity. His mother got a job as a factory manager, and things were going well. However, things began to turn for the worse when his father, who had been conscripted into the army, died in the siege of Casal Issilideth in the The Elven Court. According to his mother, Onas was deeply hurt by his father's death, and began to put up barriers, especially around other elves. Things worsened again after Brekor's secession, as his mother was let go from her job as a factory manager and replaced with a dwarf, despite the promises Brekor made to continuing to protect the rights of minorities. His mother was forced to get multiple jobs as waitresses and things in order to support herself and him.   Some point after that, Onas became very ill and, having no other place to go, his mother took him to Rodriega, who was known to perform medicine free of charge. While being treated, Rodriega noticed his bright mind and talent for the arcane and decided to take him on as an apprentice. Onas's mother leapt at the opportunity for her son to get a better life. Onas was eager at first, happy to please his mother and have something to work towards, but has gradually grown wary of Rodriega, finding her lack of teaching and strange affection suffocating.
