Lantern festival

A festival that happens every year to light up the sky in honour of the gods in The Pantheon of Sliwesm in it, there are different activities each centering around a specific god. This festival is celebrated at the beginning of spring on the 1st till the 4th of Arodus. Some examples of activities:
  • Lumis, God Of Dreams - writing a dream and how you can achieve it, all the dreams are put into a Jar and a few are taken out to be fulfilled.
  • Phiaris, Goddess Of Love - creating a matching item for couples.

History

the festival was started in the year 417 ATU, by King Edwyrd the 1st. He set it as religios days to fast, pray and disconnect from the temptations of the world.
In the year 505 ATU, King Zelphar the 1st changed the way the gods were seen from beings who should be feared to beings that should be respected and loved as they are guides for the way of life. This changed the Festival to days of fun partying to connect to the gods - the festival that is celebrated today.

Components and tools

One of the main components of the festival is masks as in these days, there is to be no noticeable outer difference in between the classes. Masks can be bought or made but are not to be over-embellished. All masks cover at least half of the face and are tied behind the head to ensure they stay on.
The masks allow for people who would normally never meet to meet and talk without social ties getting in the way. Some examples of what masks might look like:

Participants

All people can attend as these days a nationol holiday where everyone has the right to take the day off.
In most cases the nobility of the area prepare the Main event, which can happen inside the noble homes garden.

Love the article, and the idea that each god is venerated in a different manner during this time of celebration. It is also interesting to see how it went from a time of fasting to a time of partying. I wonder why the leaders did this, what the push back was, and what the gods of the realm think of it?

Thank you so much The general idea is that the Gods were seen as beings who should be feared. Then it changes to respect and love as they are seen as guides for the way of life.
