Vallaki

The Old Svalich Road meanders into a valley watched over by dark, brooding mountains to the north and south. The woods recede, revealing a sullen mountain burg surrounded by a wooden palisade. Thick fog presses up against this wall, as though looking for a way inside, hoping to catch the town aslumber.   The dirt road ends at a set of sturdy iron gates with a pair of shadowy figures standing behind them. Planted in the ground and flanking the road outside the gates are a half-dozen pikes with wolves' heads impaled on them.

Demographics

The people of Vallaki are almost entirely human, with only an occasional half-Vistani, hal-elf, or caliban. Nonhumans, if present, are universally travelers and most will go to lengths to conceal their nature from the superstitious inhabitants.

Defences

Defense: The Terg citadel also serves as barracks for Vallaki’s sixty soldiers, who also serve as constables. The Burgomeister can call up 400 militia if needed.

Not far behind the Burgomaster’s Mansion stands a fortress-like complex that brims with authority. The two story building is supported by a tall, stone lookout tower, atop which you catch the faintest glimpses of guards peering out over Vallaki. The front of the building bares two, giant wooden doors that sit heavily in their frames
