Great Elk Tribe

The original tribe of one of our heroes Korza Evensen, the Great Elk Tribe is known as being on of the more approachable tribes for the more civilised peoples to their south. Not as mysterious and suspicious as the Wolf Tribe nor as aggressive and warlike as the Ice Bear Tribe, The Great Elk is instead known for its trading with both Lyssonne from their southern winter camp and Kazad Dor from their northern summer camp.    Despite their generally peaceful interaction with the outside world though, there has been significant inner turmoil within the tribe's leaders. After their heroic intervention at Kazad Dor during a Dark Elf invasion Korza's adopted father and then leader of the tribe Evan Jorgunsen lay dead in the World's Edge Mountains. His three sons took over leadership of the tribe but divisions soon took hold. The way the tribespeople tell it this was due to Korza's plotting to destroy the tribe and leave his brothers dead along with their father. His darkness, so it was said, was apparent. Then along came a priest of The Inheritors who set the tribe onto a new path, one of the true nature of things. This interfered with Korza's nefarious plans as the priest could see the daemons twisting his mind and after a confrontation Korza was detained. But his brothers were kind hearted against the word of the priest refused to put their brother to death. Instead, opting to offer their brother forgiveness, they set Korza free so long as he rejected up his deamon masters. Korza turned on them unleashing the full power of the daemons possessing him and killed his two brothers burning their hut to the ground. outside the burning wreckage he was confronted by the priest who was no match for the daemon possessed Korza. They were left bleeding out in the snow while Korza fled.   Obviously we know that there is more to this story than is voiced by the tribespeople as Korza is rightly well celebrated in the civilised world as one of the Heroes of Lyssonne for his part taking down the dastardly plots of the evil mage Sarin Cane at great risk to his own safety. Perhaps it is to cover their own failings as a people and their mistreatment of our hero, perhaps it is indoctrination into the inheritors that makes them see this way or perhaps, and I give little credence to this idea, our hero is not the paragon we believe.
Something that may or not be worthy of note but I thought would be remiss to not include in this almanac is the existence of the 'Great Betrayal' some twenty years previously. I heard only mutterings of such a thing though my questions were evaded when I broached this subject.
