Session #5 - The Dancers of Joy Report
General Summary
The party met with, and became exhasperated by, the head priestess of the Joybringer Lliira that operates the main temple in Stonewood. They met with Arof Darask, who (reluctantly) revealed his source of information about the cultist of the Consuming Flame. After a brief but vicious rebuking of Arof's approach to gathering information, the party had him bring them to the prisoner. Jarok Bahrun was being kept in the basement of Arof's home, and was being tortured by Arof. Upon meeting the party, Jarok seemed to recognize Aela Eridani, and called her a "failed experiement" and "dirty halfbreed." Unsurprisingly she was upset by this exchange, and flew into a rage. A vicious and horrifying strike to the head broke the neck of the captive prisoner and took with him any information he may have had to share with the party. After that unpleasantness, the party decided to continue with the original job they had been hired to do by Hemeten Sask, namely track down the bandits in the woods and find out where their base of operations is. They set out into the Satyrwood, searching for a cache of stolen goods. On the way they discovered an ancient druidic ritual stone to Mielikki and Boddington Bitterbrook experienced a vision of a follower of Mielikki being imbued with the surging power of a holy ritual of storms. Some of this divine power cascaded down through time and imbued him with a fraction of its essence. The party continued on, led by their intrepid Druidic ally Asmodeus, and found the cache of stolen goods secreted under a crossed set of tree trunks. After gathering the treasure, the party was ambushed by three murderous rogues who initially had thought that only one person had come to steal their ill-gotten loot. They were, in turn, surprised to find a well armed and prepared party that was more than a match for them.
