Whilst getting to know some of the locals better the party heard the stories of the White dragon attacking and raiding farms in the Phandalin region. Wanting to know more information the party headed towards the Town hall. Finding the notice board outside there only appeared to be a few minor tasks. Knocking on the Town Masters door they can hear the cowardly voice of Harbin Wester as he hides on the other side of the door as he speaks through the letter box. He confirms there is a big scary dragon in the area called Cryovain and that he will remain inside until it goes away or is dealt with. The party do however manage to meek a small piece of information out of him that a small colony of Gnome live nearby and maybe able to help with magical items.
The relitively short journey towards the mountains goes quickly and without incident, however the party are wary and watching the skies for the dragon. Gnomengarde a tiny kingdom set into the mountain side was well hidden by a waterfall, however the party found the enterance leading up into a cave. Almost immediatly the party are hit with a barrage of huge bolts from an automatic ballista. At the end of a corridor a small skatty gnome sat upon a ballista calls out apologising. She introduced herself as Facktoré one of the gnome inventors, she suggests heading further into the tunnels and seeking out Dabbledob Plasterpatch and Fibblestib Pinebark, the Kings cheif inventors.
The two best inventors for the kingdom told the party of strange goings on. Gnomes had been dissappearing and King Gnerkli had locked himself and King Korboz away in their room with a fearful madness. Searching around the tunnels the party found a secret enternace to the Kings bed chamber behind the thrones.
Inside they found King Korboz tied to a chair in the centre of the room and King Gnerkli looking frantic. Korboz after a near miss and the killing of his subjects had become maddened by the situation and locked his husband inside to keep him safe. The party untied Korboz and reassured both Kings that they would hunt down the culprit.
After stalking through the tunnels and rooms for some time that party came across a wine cellar full of barrels. Whilst inspecting one of the barrels it sprang to life revealing a toothy gapping mouth as it lunged for the characters. The monstorous barrel put up a formidable fight before being chopped to splinters revealing its true form, a mimic.
Now that the kingdom was free from the silent stalker they were able to continue about their business of inventing and building. The group were gifted a few magical items, however they felt they had little value in a fight against Cryovain. Heading back to Phandalin and Stonehill in the party relax with food and the local stale ale.
