Session 3 - A Train Through Novus Part 3 Report

General Summary

The party continued venturing through the Novus Rail Transit System, despite any tension they had with the group. Doxa did his best to diffuse the tension in the group, while continuing to urge Rayla and Winnow to join the Dusters in their search for ethereum crystals in the Windswept District.

When they came to a fork in the path, Dac scouted ahead and led the party down one path. While following this path, the group found evidence of hatched stirge eggs.

They tracked down the source of these stirge eggs in a terminating tunnel within the rail system where and unnaturally large stirge hung from the ceiling. A fallen gearforged was within this tunnel, perilously close to the stirges

Feyre, Doxa, and Dac wanted to help this gearforged, and carefully crept forward to assist. However, the gearforged was already dead.

While sneaking back, the group accidentally awoke the stirge nest and a fight ensued. Feyre dealt the killing blow to the oversize stirge, but not before the other stirges, out for blood, killed Doxa.

Shellshocked by the death of Doxa, Rayla whisked away his body to Hollow, hoping that that village healer Siluna Cloverloam could restore his life. But he was too far gone.

Rayla was comforted by her husband, Bramble but was warned for breaking certain rules in Hollow by Avex Steelhoof.

A distressed Winnow later sought out her aunt, Agathe Fentheana but shifted her shape and personality into an alternate form named Moxie. Her aunt was able to console her, soothing her anger and reverting Moxie to Winnow. Agathe later confronted Rayla about her lapse in being able to protect Winnow.

Meanwhile a defeated Nance, Feyre, and Gunn returned home. Nance hated herself for letting Doxa die and announced her intention to disband the Dusters.

Despite the loss, many mysteries persist. The gearforged within the tunnels was filled with stirge eggs, as if they were implanted within its chassis. The gearforged also was holding a token of the community of Axiom. The flip side was marked with a scratched circle with a slash through it.
