S6: Coin and Favour Report

General Summary

12th Zarantyr

The party spoke with Keryn, Elder of Havenglen, and discussed Seamus. Keryn advised them he had come and gone a month ago with a companion (Kai noted he was hesitant and shifting while talking of Seamus). The party did not press further and Keryn changed the subject to aiding the town, providing 25gp as a reward, and asked the party to perform three tasks.   1. Deliver supplies from the Broken Plough tavern to the Peckish Pixie at the edge of the valley. 2. Aid a hunter named Gunther who had lost his sword in a cave. 3. Check up on an old hermit in the woods near a field of nightshades and return with healing balms and poultices.   After retrieving the supplies, the party found their sled had gone missing. Tracking the marks left by the sled, the party found it had been taken by children who were playing in a field. While traveling to the Peckish Pixie, the same children followed them and used a makeshift blowdart gun to shoot small objects at them.   Esi, Kai, and Zora'kas chased after the children, with Zora'kas using his breath weapon to terrifying the children, Kai used cantrips, and her and Esi grappled the children. Once captures, the children became visibly upset and begged for forgiveness. The party threatened worse harm if the sled was not returned.   Traveling the rest of the way to the tavern unharmed, they delivered the supplies and found that a Gargoyle named Abraxus, with a large Byeshk Greatsword strapped to his back, was resting and enjoying food at the inn. They engaged in small talk and left the fellow to his own devices.   Returning to the tavern, the party was rewarded with free food and lodgings while staying in Havenglen. They set out the next day to speak with Gunther and traveled with him to a cave in the hills of the valley. Inside they found a hole to a tunnel below, where Gunther had dropped his sword, but they could not find it after repelling down.   Venturing down the tunnel, they found signs of battle and destruction, which Dhok ascertained to be from the war between Dhakaan and Daelkyr. The session ended with Esi pointing out that noises were coming from a corridoor to their left.
