Episode 10: Two for the Show Report

General Summary

3 Mirtul, 1374DR (cont.)   The party makes their way into the sewers again, this time having a much easier way of navigating to the location.   After some guilt is given to Shay for his fireballing last visit, and Svent checks the secret passage from the previous sneak attack, the group emerges at a literal hole in the wall.   They venture down the passage, finding their way across a crevasse to a cavern landing. After making their way through, they find the back of a ruined crypt and a man sitting inside with a light. Dust introduces himself and explains about the situation with the cursed elven crypt guardian, and encourages them to help and avoid being destroyed. Despite warnings not to touch things, Mirko bothers the body of a former associate, and the guardian appears.   He relates his tale of being cursed to be the watcher up this tomb of Auppenser's priests, then trapped in place when the elven high magic wrought destruction on Jhaamdath.   With the agreement that there would be treasure left unguarded if they did so, the party sets forward to locate the rest of the ruins of the temple to destroy what remains of the phylactery-like device holding him to the place.   As the group begins to descend into the swampy cavern below, snakes appear, including at great 50-foot viper. The group is able to dispatch them with only Mirko being wounded, his second suffering of near-fatal injuries on the adventure. Dust heals him a second time, and the group continues forward....
