Session 6: The Blazing door Report

General Summary

The party has reached the door and have started their research. After taking some time to look for hidden hatches, locks, nooks and crannies and finding nothing barend bats figured it was sure to do something with the rhyme on the door post: "where the parents of the first children stopped the ruiner's devastation, those gifted with the arcane build their fortification. While the Sun's Strong rays can be blinding, the moon's vigilant light will always be shining."   He figured that the door should be basked in the light of the moon to open it, however the cannopy of the forest obscured it from the sky. The players opened up the forest roof and waited until nightfall. After a small scuffle with some orcs the party patiently waited for the moon to rise and shine it's rays through the hole, all while enjoying some freshly made saté by Burtle Whistleshield. Once the first rays started to hit the door small starlike twinkles could be seen, increasing until at the pinnacle of the moon cycle the door began to shift and the door would open.   It opens to a small lobby, containing two clear objects. A statue of the Sehanine, The Moonweaver, holding a full moon in her hands. Carved out of the same blueish glowing stone that the door and the room are made of with the white hair and moon being made of marble.   On the far end of the room is a massive green metal construct. It seems to guard a door. It has ancient elven symbols on its surface. It has been severly damaged by erosion over time.   The wall describe what the purpose of this place is and why it was build. It depicts an old elven city from the age of arcanum nestled againt a small mountain range, filled with magus and sorcerers who researched and experimented with magical powers. It was above this city the great battle between Corellon, The Archeart and Gruumsh, The Ruiner was fought during the Calamity. Corellon seemed to be winning, but when he gouched out Gruumsh's eye the blood flowed down into the city. There the tainted crimson liquid corrupted the once noble elves into the wild and vicious orcs. To protect the treasures and research that the elves had accumulated they placed them into The Moonweaver's Vault and sealed it behind them. The city was transformed into a dense and wild forest to hinder the orcs and conceal their vault.   The party tried to open up the door by moving the giant metal man that was standing in front of it, however to no avail. Lupé noticed that it wasn't held in place just by brute force but also by some magical effect. She suggested awakening the golem so it could move on its own.   This would require the damage to be repaired, requiring adamantine to fill in the gaps that were left behind. barend bats remembered that this material was "out of this world" however he did not know if this meant literally or figuratively. Lupé added that Adamantine wasn't from exandria but is brought here by meteors that hit the planet.   If anyone knew where to find such things, it would be the opperators of the Observatory in Westruun. Lupé handed the party a small bag of 20 gp to pay for the expenses that would surely be made and requested to find on of these meteors.   The party returned to Kymal to rest up, gather provisions and prepare for the travel, to much discomfort of Sniv Sik. It was at the Maiden's Wish that barend bats was approached by two guards from Kraghammer. They accused him of being a murdered and ordered him to come with them to appear before court. Reluctant to join the two dwarves Barend resisted and after a quick scuffle managed to escape. This escape wasn't without a cost however as he lost the many weapons and armours he had collected over the last couple of weeks. He Dashed towards a stable and rode south of the country...
