Croon's Workshop

Kyrrn decides to use the fishgold that she from the Mayor's office to attempt to scry for him. Her vision seems to move through water and rock until reemerging into the brain canister room and alighting before another cannister not far from where the Count resides.

10.35p

The Book of Abstruse Geometries was written mostly by several Shub-Niggurath worshippers, not just one single author. They are all obviously quite mad, making reading even more difficult and she has to take frequent breaks. It is an immense wealth of knowledge about the god and there are pieces of unique spells and rituals that bend in the direction of conjuration.   Kyrrn is suddenly struck by the fact that this massive 1,000 page tome written by all its mad authors that all the unique summoning spells and rituals could possibly each be a piece of one massive ritual to summon Shub-Niggurath.

Croon's Workshop

12.55a

Kyrrn begins to notice a pattern of unique name that continually reappear and she sees that it is actually a ritual for summoning a dimensional shambler, a feat thought to be impossible. There are a hundred or so unique shamblers, but the ritual summons specific ones.   Given time, more spells and rituals can be pulled out of the tome. However, Kyrrn believes that the Star Moit is a primary component for a powerful conjuration, which could include Shub-Niggurath, but also any number of lesser beings in the Dark Tapestry. She realize that the pieces of the star moit resonant together which can be used to find each other.   A summoned vessel or conduit would be an important component to anchoring Shub-Niggurath to the material plane, and it is that vessel that would be the weak point of the ritual. Either stopping the summoning of the vessel or by destroying it which disrupt the ritual, making it impossible for Shub-Niggurath to manifest.

2.55a

Everyone is sudden awoken as the world around them shifts about a foot. People are thrown from their beds and items fall and shatter to the floor. Neferu suddenly feels like he is being crushed by massive pressure and he sees the Soul arching his back as he violently vomits liquid and blood. It stops just as suddenly and the Soul looks to Neferu and tells him in Draconic,
"It comes."
The smell of sea water rankles the air.   Everyone begins rushing around and checking on the Isinguard. Kyrrn attempts to cycle through her various senses, but is having difficulty following her efforts on the book.   Kelath looks out the west through the window to see a dark frothy wall of water. Kelath, Croon and Kyrrn run into the Isinglass. X grabs Neferu, who unsummons the Soul, and then unfurls his wings and takes flight. Kyrrn uses telekinetic haul on the Isinglass and lifts it and its passengers above the water. Slimy creatures splat against the glass. The tidal wave only goes in about halfway into the town, recking far less damage than was expected.

3.55a

The party finds Croon's boat wrecked on the shore. It appears that the air apparatus survived the wave. They begin working to remove it from the boat. Some others go and return with the Isinglass. The water level near the wharf is obviously lower.

4.25a

The Fellowship finds the Broken Pearl damaged but still seaworthy, and they set about to getting the diving apparatus attached to it.

4.55a

They get the Isingard attached to the commandeered ship and begin sailing for the Turn Rocks through choppy waters. Kyrrn scries the brain cannister room and finds that a number of the cylinders have fallen over and broken, the blue liquid slushed out onto the floor. She notices some movement as something skitters away from the edge of her vision. Looking more fully, she sees Mi-Go attending to the cannisters.

The Lonely Quay

5.55a

They begin seeing a small outcropping of jutting rocks about ten feet in diameter. A number of seagulls are fighting and alighting on a corpse chained to them. As they get closer, they can also see small crabs swarming the body. To Neferu, the corpse looks fairly fresh and has a slit running down the front of its body. Kyrrn casts clairvoyance over the body and describes what she sees to Neferu. It looks like it's about a day old and she has the sense of being around powerful undead. The blood on the rocks does not appear to be a natural pattern. Arcane symbols appear to have been drawn into the rock itself. It seems to have been in the form of sort of sending.   The party gets into the Isinglass before being lowered in. Kyrrn asks for Kelath to say a prayer to Iomedae before embarking. As they are lowered into Avalon Bay, it begins to get hot and humid within, the metal shell groaning as they go. A dead skum bumps near Kelath's head, slender blade cuts in its torso.   The dark water around them begins to lighten as they near the bottom of the bay, the source of which is not apparent. Bubbles come out from a rock formation about 100 feet away. Cave openings come into view, one the source of the bubbles.

Skum Tunnels

6.15a

X slips out of the Isingard and immediately begins to feel the pressure of the water around him. He sees some kind of force field holding back the water at the tunnels. Moving through it feels rubbery and warm to the touch. Popping through it takes them into a cavern with air. Kyrrn and the Soul enter through and Neferu teleports in. About a foot of water fills the passage. There is water dripping everywhere, and the fishy smell of skum fills the air.   A sense of dimension door and tall skinny figures begin detaching from the wall, flickering in and out of view: dimensional shamblers. It attempts to strike the Soul, but misses. Neferu fires an electric arc, striking it dead center. The Soul steps closer. X steps around to flank and is able land a slice against the creature. Another one of the shambler steps out, but misses its attacks against X. Kyrrn recalls that shamblers regenerate quickly, but it can be negated by force and ghost touch properties, and is resistant to bludgeoning and piercing, mental. Kyrrn also fires an electric arc.   The first shambler's wounds begin to heal and it drags one claw against the Soul, grabbing him in the process. It restrains the Soul and begins to flicker with him, but the Soul and X land blows before anything else can happen and it loosens its grasp on the Soul.
