CXX. High Voltage
General Summary
Left alone in the Storm Cells, Amari moved his Light spell from King's rock to Wynna's necklace so that they could continue to move around stealthily inside. The party, now looking around, found themselves in what seemed to be a barren processing chamber. Along one wall was a small slit below a barred window high above the ground, where it seemed items where intended to be passed through. On that same wall was a slab of Eldingite blocking a passage beyond--a door like the one Azka has just opened. King, making use of his small stature, swam through the slit above and into a room with a wall divided into niches. Soora and Amari joined him, with Soora teleporting into a dark corner and Amari casting the spell Misty Step. The niches appeared to have once been used to collect and store items, though the barnacles growing in them indicated that they had not been used in a long time. They had all been emptied save for a few eels that startled King as they darted from their hiding places, having been disturbed by the search. Amari, who was able to read the Giant script labelling the niches, confirmed that there was some kind of categorization method in place. In the other room, Jäger stepped forward to Eldingite slab, readying himself to try and open it. As he did, water began to swirl in the chamber. A portal ripped open in the water, and emerging from within were six watery, armored elementals wielding tridents. At the same time, a deep-touched Storm Giant with a mass of tentacles replacing one arm appeared in the doorway of the room with Soora, King and Amari. The giant threw a bolt lightning at Amari, which reacted with the Eldingite structure of the building, superheating and killing him instantly. The force of the blow threw King aside, though Soora managed to duck into one of the niches to dodge it. Jäger raged and tried to channel lightning into the door to open it, but all the things that had happened recently with Egar weakened his resolve and the door did not open, though the force of the electricity remained, humming in the door. Several of the Myrmidons surrounded and attacked Jäger as he tried to open the door, but only one hit. King used the Telepathic Bond to ask Soora to take Amari’s body to Wynna, and asked Jäger to kill the Giant. Then he grappled the giant with his Mythril Bond and fired a Blink Bolt through the barred window into the other room. He teleported to the other side of the window and yanked hard, sending the giant crashing into the wall.
“Even if you can’t hear me, I hope you know that the Mythril Bond is unbreakable!”Wynna removed herself from the danger zone and put out her light, signaling to Soora that she could bring Amari straight to her. From the other room, the Giant threw another lightning bolt through the window. The bolt hit King and would have likely killed him if it weren't for the Death Ward that Jäger had cast on him. Soora and Roger managed to dodge the blast. Wynna managed to Revivify Amari. King was knocked unconscious, but Roger was able to bring him back up with a Healing Word. Sensing the end of the fight as his Myrmidons were picked off one by one, the Giant started running down the hallway. Jäger once again pumped the Eldingite slab full of lightning and, having finally gotten the door open, gave chase. King followed up with his Mythril Bond, restraining the Giant once again, and setting Soora up for the final shot. All their enemies dead for the time being, Wynna Healed the party. After the fight, Amari approached Wynna:-Drayton King
"Thank you again for saving me. The darkness has been with me since I died before, but I'm glad I have you here to bring me back to the light."Amari pointed towards Wynna's necklace, which was still glowing from Amari's Light spell.-Amari
"I'm glad I can do that. I'm not going anywhere, but don't do that again!"Despite her words, Wynna was crying. Amari also teared up as he laughed.-Wynna Cannari
"I'll try not to."-Amari
