Personal history

Fredegar Müller was born the second son of Haedrig and Mildrid Müller in the quiet town of Lumberfell.
 
The old Fredegar:
Fredegar stands tall at 6’1”, has a lanky, wiry frame, and long blonde hair. Fredegar wasn’t gifted with great physical abilities, natural talents, or extraordinary skills. When Fredegar was about 12 years old, his father a lumber worker, was killed in a horrible accident at the yard. A few months later his older and more talented brother, Wilhelm, went off on his own to begin a career as an adventurer in an effort to support the family. Unfortunately for Fredegar and his mother, Wilhelm’s earnings weren’t steady nor were his appearances in Lumberfell. Up until 2 years ago Fredegar worked as a laborer at the Lumber Mill during the early morning and day and worked in the afternoons and evenings as a helper in Elkan Colster’s shop with his mother.
 
The new Fredegar:
Two years ago today Fredegar’s life changed forever. He was working in the lumber mill when one of the other laborers was horribly injured in a mill accident. A bolt had come loose from one of the saws and the blade impaled this man leaving a larger bloody wound in his chest. Fredegar, the only man in the mill with any experience as a healer, rushed over to him and attempted to perform first aid. Fredegar pressed and pressed the wound, trying to keep the blood from pouring out of his body when it happened. With a final forceful press to the wound, a glowing light emanated from his hands. In a matter of seconds, the bleeding stopped and the wound had closed. The once dying man regained consciousness and awoke to the horrifying screams of the man who had saved his life. “MY EYES!!! MY EYES!!!”. Fredegar had been blinded by the magical light that emanated from his hands and healed the dying man.
 
As the days went by Fredegar’s eyesight slowly started coming back to him. At first he could barely see a few inches in front of him, with each passing day he could see a little further and with less pain. About 6 months after the incident his eyes stopped improving, and he realized that this was likely permanent condition.
 
Two months after the incident, Fredegar was approached by Father Rantal Prasst. By this point the entire town had heard of the incident and Father Rantal Prasst was looking to learn more about this Miracle and the healing powers of Fredegar. Fredegar, still in shock and mostly blind refused to see the Father and discuss the incident. Father was persistent though, and eventually Fredegar caved in and discussed the experience with him approximately 8 months after the incident.
 
Fredegar told the Father everything about that day, the moments leading up to the Miracle and the blinding flash of light that saved one man’s life but cursed his own. The Father discussed with Fredegar the source of his new power, he hypothesized that this event was an act of the Gods and the power he felt was a divine gift. Fredegar spent the next 16 months under the mentorship of Father Rantal Prasst to discover the secrets behind the miracle he performed and the curse that so tragically disabled him.

Education

Fredegar is a trained healer, he has learned basic healing skills from his mother Mildred who works with the Herbalist Elkan Colster and his grand daughter.
 
Fredegar has also learned from the clerics of the Nine religious knowledge

Employment

Former lumber mill worker and part time herbalist.

Fredegar miraculously saved the life of a fellow lumber worker.

Failures & Embarrassments

He has lived his entire life in the shadow of his older brother Wilhelm who is a great warrior.  Growing up Fredegar showed no natural talents or abilities, he never felt that he would become an adventurer.
