Background
Adonis Lenoir was born into a broken family. His mother died in childbirth and his mother wanted nothing to do with him.He was sent to live with some elders before he got a proper home. Mithlian, a fatherly elder, took care of him the most before he was sent away to live with the healer that helped bring him into this world. The healer allowed Adonis to see Mithlian while he trained everyday.
When Adonis turned 17, meaning he was young mentally, the last war started. A war engulfing the entire Khorvaire continent, and a very gory war at that. He didn’t fully understand what war was until it happened. As soon as this war started, his training increased in intensity like learning how to sever heads from bodies, and how to kill very a person effectivently. He was also taught leadership skills and how to lead a war band. During his training, he would go see Mithlian, as he was a great father figure to him. He would also ask Mithlian to train him, and which he would oblige.
His training took years to complete, but once it was complete, he was ready to lead a war band in battle. The first mission he had was to raid a nearby village, and it went pretty well, slaughtering many. This made him want to feel more involved in the war. It took some time, but he was able to get involved in the main war effort by leading his band. In this war effort, Adonis learned more battle techniques and more about elf ancestors. As his ancestor was unknown. He sided with his Talinar brothers when they seized the land now known as Valenar
One day during the war, Adonis awakens with a strange white symbol on his right shoulder. He goes to Mithlian, who is also a keeper of the past, to find out what this mark was. As he shows Mithlian the mark, he demands he hide it immediately. It so happened to be a mark from an ancestor that helped reinforce his people’s faith. Many have strived to receive this mark from Adonis’s ancestor, and some could kill to get this mark. Mithlian tells Adonis to hide the mark at all costs and to train his newfound power well. His new power given to him could bring light to a new faith, in the Mithlian’s mind. Adonis heeds his elder’s words and hides his mark, and himself.
Someone in his band finds out about his mark and decides to tell higher-ups about the power Adonis has acquired. His father hears about his acquired power and calls a manhunt to get Adonis and make him surrender his power, or kill him if he refuses to surrender it. Mithlian finds out about this manhunt and warns Adonis. Right before Adonis leaves the nation that he was raised and trained in, Mithlian gives him a gift. A rare scimitar that has engravings of the symbol on his shoulder and his faith. He will always remember the words Mithlian spoke before he fled the nation:
“You will find the reason why your ancestor, Ciaran, granted you this power, in due time. Use the power how you think your ancestor wants you to use it, they have faith in you. And discover more about this power. I love you and please, be safe my son.”
After all said and done, Adonis reluctantly leaves Mithlian behind in the nation that he used to call home. Now set out on a mission to find out more about his ancestor, and to discover why he was chosen by this ancestor to carry on his legacy. Also to discover how to use the power like his ancestor wants him to. Now he must hide from his father, and keep this power a secret. He is smuggled out of Valenar thanks to a bunny smuggler called Alex Rapide who is also assisted by a warforged named R0-k1 or Roki for short.

Ciaran the Tarnidal elf of Twilight
Adonis's Ancestor was a person known as Ciaran whom was a twilight domain cleric. They were a fierce warrior who achieved mighty deeds, now Adonis must do the same.
Ciaran lived at the time of the elvish rebellion against the giants that occured after the Quori invasion. He is one of the many Tarnidal ancestors that founded the elvish nation. His Heroic deeds are still sang of to this day after these thousands of years
Adonis beliefs that "Ciaran fought alongside a few other warriors but mostly fought in battle alone. They thought that you couldn’t reach your full potential if you always fought alongside other warriors. The times they did fight along with other warriors, it was with very close friends of theirs". This is not true, quite the opposite actually. Ciaran in many instanced did fight alone in some of his mighty tales such as when he fought the red dragon known as Corgon the nimble. However, without his warband, his story would be a lot shorter as together they repelled numerous onslaughts from the giants and drow. His friends are just as legendary as he was.
Ciaran's life
Ciaran was born a slave like the rest of her race a little bit before the Quori invasion which came when she turned 100 years old. She became a war slave, recieving almost no training from the giants and sent with the masses against the Quori. The loses were heavy for the elves, but Ciaran was destined to not be a statistic like her bretheren. Sources are not quite sure, but one thing is for certain, Ciaran left that battlefield as a seasoned warrior with a power some consider divine.
After the Quori invasion, it only took a couple of years for the elves to stage a rebellion. Ciaran was given the title of War general and led some of the first devestating battles against the giants. Soon after the dragons also came to the elves aid as the giants began to rely more upon their destructive magic. Ciaran defeated many foes in the battlefield, most likely hundreds. She was the pinacle of warrior prowess and leadership. She only lost a handful of battles where the odds were ten times against her. However, thanks to her hard work, the elfs were able to flee from the giants and founded a nation on Aerenal.
No one knows how she died. Some say she was betrayed by someone in her warband, or settled down with her secret lover. Others even say that same lover betrayed her instead. No one entirely knows. However, one thing is for certain: she has descendants and those who are directly from her bloodline are destined for greatness.
Remarkable feats
Here is the list of grand achievements that Ciaran achieved before her death.
- Ciaran defeated the Red Dragon known as Corgon the nimble in hand to hand combat to settle a dispute over tactings against the giants.
- Ciaran defeated a androsphinx in combat with her warband who was tricked by the Giant's magic.
- Ciaran lead as war general of the elvish armies against the Giants and was incredibly talented in her tactics and leadership.
- She slayed well over a hundred troops by herself in battle.
- She defeated one of the infamous Giant War generals known as Trynnort.
- She participated innumerous battles that were vital to the elfs winning the war.

Secretish story for Adonis
Adonis is a direct living descendant of Ciaran which is what makes him special compared to her other followers. Proof of this would be the twilight mark located on Adonis's right shoulder. This also leads to how Adonis's birth father is so desperate to obtain Adonis because if he can take this mark from Adonis somehow, then he will be able to weild great power.
Throughout Adonis's career as an adventurer, he will continue to learn more about the deeds of Carian through trances. There is the possibiliy of him learning a lot more by returning to Valenar, but that is not likely unless he is captured and returned there.
Through these trances, Ciaran will progressively reveal more about themselves and as well as teach Adonis there values and how they are important such as: leadership, trust, Honor, cunning, and kindness.
Stage 1 (levels 5-9)
Firstly, Ciaran will have sent Adonis his spirit animal: A Fennec Fox. One can tell of it's spiritual connection due to it's eyes being a midnight purple. This spirit animal should arrive during Adonis's journey to the Mournland and his name is Leon. Use the Valenar Hound statblock. If the Fox is killed in combat, it will be resummoned in 1d8 hours. He can also Bond to the rest of the party and communicate to them each taking an hour.
This spirit animal is a direct descendant of one of Ciaran's elf friends who was affected by a curse of the Giants. This curse forced any druids to remain trapped in the form of animals. Leon is named after his grand ancestor who fought next to Ciaran and wishes to guide Adonis to the best of his abilities to follow in Ciaran's footsteps. Leon is a chaotic neutral creature. He values Honor, friendship, and violence.
As Adonis continues through his adventures, Ciaran will reveal various deeds and lessons to him through his trances at random intervals such as showing grand battles, epid deeds, and important moments. He will aslo be slowly bombarded with mercenaries from Valenar with tasking to bring him back.
Stage 2 (levels 10-15)
Once Adonis has reached level 10, Ciaran will confront him at some point with a request finally revealing their appearance. She will ask him to embark on a quest to recover an important item of hers that was buried in valenar by a previous descendant: Her Bracers. These are magical bracers that aided her and her friends in combat many times and will aid Adonis as well. They are within a vault in the desert near the border of the Mournland. Leon knows the way at all times.
Bracers of Divine Healing

These Bracers has four charges. Whenever you cast a spell that restores hitpoints, you can choose to expend a charge to increase the number of temporary hitpoints gain to triple your proficiency bonus. These Bracers recover these charges every day at dawn.
Draconic. These Bracers design are almost scaly and warm to the touch. These bracers seem to have been made by the Dragons for someone clearly of significance. If a dragon is within 120 ft. of you, these bracers glow.
Harmonious. Attunement to these Bracers only take one minute
Ciaran will continue meeting Adonis in various trances. At this stage, various of Adonis's friends and family begin to also search for him to help deal with his father who seems to be going insane and is gaining increasing power.
Stage 3 (levels 14-16)
Eventually, when Ciaran thinks Adonis is ready, he will make one last request worded like this: "You are ready, Retrieve my blade from your father by any means necessary, or else you will not succeed at the tasks at hand."
Adonis must retrieve the Moonblade or eventually Ciaran will have to choose another descendant to take his place and remove the mark of twilight from Adonis. Adonis will still keep his powers as a gift from Ciaran, but will no longer be able to use the Bracers.
The moonblade allows Adonis's father to wield it, but not to it's full potential, and in Adonis's presence it will begin to reject his father.
In order to wield the moonblade, Adonis must change his alignment toward that of Ciaran's wilingly.
Moonblade
Source: Dungeon Master's Guide
Weapon (Double bladed Scimitar), legendary (requires attunement by an elf or half-elf of any good alignment)
Of all the magic items created by the elves, one of the most prized and jealously guarded is a moonblade. In ancient times, nearly all elven noble houses claimed one such blade. Over the centuries, some blades have faded from the world, their magic lost as family lines have become extinct. Other blades have vanished with their bearers during great quests. Thus, only a few of these weapons remain.
A moonblade passes down from parent to child. The sword chooses its bearer and remains bonded to that person for life. If the bearer dies, another heir can claim the blade. If no worthy heir exists, the sword lies dormant. It functions like a normal sword until a worthy soul finds it and lays claim to its power.
A moonblade serves only one master at a time.
A moonblade won't serve anyone it regards as craven, erratic, corrupt, or at odds with preserving and protecting elvenkind. If the blade rejects you, you make ability checks, attack rolls, and saving throws with disadvantage for 24 hours. If the blade accepts you, you become attuned to it and a new rune appears on the blade. You remain attuned to the weapon until you die or the weapon is destroyed.
A moonblade has one rune on its blade for each master it has served (typically 1d6 + 1). The first rune always grants a +1 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this magic weapon. Each rune beyond the first grants the moonblade an additional property. The DM chooses each property or determines it randomly on the Moonblade Properties table.
Properties:
- This sword has a +2 to attack and damage rolls.
- War Leader. The bearer can use an action to cause his or her voice to carry clearly for up to 300 feet until the end of the bearer’s next turn.
- You can use a bonus action to cause the moonblade to flash brightly. Each creature that can see you and is within 30 feet of you must succeed on a DC 15 Constitution saving throw or become blinded for 1 minute . A creature can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on itself on a success. This property can't be used again until you take a short rest while attuned to the weapon.
- The moonblade scores a critical hit on a roll of 19 or 20.
- When you hit with an attack using the moonblade, the attack an extra 1d6 slashing damage.
Sentience. A moonblade is a sentient neutral good weapon with an Intelligence of 12, a Wisdom of 10, and a Charisma of 12. It has hearing and darkvision out to a range of 120 feet.
The weapon communicates by transmitting emotions, sending a tingling sensation through the wielder's hand when it wants to communicate something it has sensed. It can communicate more explicitly, through visions or dreams, when the wielder is either in a trance or asleep.
Personality. Every moonblade seeks the advancement of elvenkind and elven ideals. Courage, loyalty, beauty, music, and life are all part of this purpose.
The weapon is bonded to the family line it is meant to serve. Once it has bonded with an owner who shares its ideals, its loyalty is absolute.
If a moonblade has a flaw, it is overconfidence. Once it has decided on an owner, it believes that only that person should wield it, even if the owner falls short of elven ideals.
Visions
- You connect with your ancestor for a mere moment. However, it is enough for a small message. Before you is a forest. High above are the moons of Eberron shining down on the trees. In a small glade is a group of elves sparring fiercely with rusted swords. One of the figures seems to be blurred as if just out of focus. However, you notice that all the elves wear chains and are covered in rags. Their strikes are quick and quiet almost not making a sound. A look of rage is painted on each elf's face. You have a feeling that whoever these elves are, their masters wouldn't be happy finding them here. It seems that they feel this too. Once they finish sparring they hide their weapons in the trees before running off into the forest. In that direction, you see a castle you've never once seen. One so large rivaling the towers of Sharn as if it's reaching out to the clouds above. The vision is swept away as you lose connection with your ancestor.
- Visions and memories of the past sweep over you carrying you back into time. You are once again in a far away land filled with large mountains in forests. Under the veil of night in the forest a group of a dozen elfs prepare their horses with blades at their sides. There is one in the front with a striking appearance that feels familiar. They wear studded leather armor in colors of tan yellow, white, and royal purple. A mask is drawed over the front of their face, but a detail stands out among their blurred face: they have an eye of diamond. A red haired elf walks up to the person with the diamond eye. "Are you ready?"...
