Yrsa was once a giant warrior from a nomadic tribe. Her people lived in harmony with the lands. Yrsa gained renown for her combat skills and leadership, defending her people from outside threats. Everything changed when the Abericlase went dark. The once-stable power source unleashed a freezing cataclysm, turning the land into an eternal winter creating the Nevermelting Fields. Yrsa's tribe was wiped out, but she survived—transformed by the darkening of the Abericlase into a frost giant. Her once-normal form was infused with the ice’s power, and she found herself cursed with new strength and abilities tied to the cold. Now a lone frost giant, Yrsa wandered the frozen wastes, unable to return to her people who were frozen solid and now sleep beneath the earth. In her isolation, she honed her skills, learning to master the frost magic that now flowed through her veins. Her survival in the harsh wilderness made her resilient, but she carried the grief of her lost tribe and home. Years later, Yrsa stumbled upon Kan Guruhm, a dwarven city on the edge of the Clersea Pinnacle. Though frost giants and dwarves were rarely allies, the dwarves of Kan Guruhm found Yrsa in her weakened state and saved her. Grateful, Yrsa swore an eternal life debt to the dwarves, offering her strength and frost magic to defend the city. In a short time, she rose to become its ruler, forging a unique relationship with the dwarves, and using her powers to protect the city from external threats. Now known as Yrsa Icebane, she has become an integral figure in Kan Guruhm’s history. She leads with a mix of cold pragmatism and loyalty, her power ensuring the city remains impenetrable. Despite her giant form, Yrsa feels a deep connection to the dwarven people, seeing them as her new tribe.
