Erik is a captain of the Arcanist Inquisition. He is part of a squad sent to investigate the reportings of the mist and was camped outside for the last 2 days, having little success with chants and exorcisms.
Captain Erik met the party after they had dealt with Karl Klosterban and requested a meeting with them, where he wanted to hear the full story from them. At first the party tried to hide the full truth and point blame towards Tiberius Tibby. Though they were very persuasive, he had already discussed their acts and powers with Gerhard Donnersten and Jonathan Herrenrig and decided to bring in Tiberius and have a general magic test performed.
Tiberius seemingly had no magical powers, but was still taken in by the inquisition. The party was reasures by Erik, that even though some of them were clearly mages, they had used their powers for the good of others. Though he warned them that not all in the Inquisition we're as rational with their dealing with mages. Not all are as zealous, but a large part of the organization and especially the current head (High Judge Petrus) and his direct superior (warder Strass) are quite convinced that arcane magic is the bane of all good and the direct result of the whispers of the dark that contributed to the fall of the gods.
The party also showed him an amulet that they had found in the remains of the Serpent Tree. He recognized it as the symbol of the Cult of the Beast . He advised them to be extra careful, as the cult does not appreciate people messing up their operations.
