Physical Description

Tall, long-limbed and bony, many people are reminded of a stork when they first meet Klera.

Body Features

No tattoos or piercings. She has a few small scars, but nothing noteworthy. Her fingers are long and thin, but strong.

Facial Features

Her pale eyes tend to stare at people just a little too intensively and a little too long. Gaunt cheeks and dark circles under her eyes coupled with the pallor of her skin suggest unhealthy habits.

Physical quirks

She is twitchy - she is almost never completely still, whether it is flexing her hands, bouncing a leg, looking around or shifting her weight.

She is usually wearing a collared shirt, sharp trousers held up by suspenders, sturdy work boots and a thick greatcoat that is rather too big for her. (Goodness, whatever would Mother think!).

Personal history

Though never noble themselves, many sons and daughters of the Thaler family married into financially-troubled noble houses. Once owning numerous, valuable properties in the Six Towers district as well as ships, the Thaler family has fallen on hard times of late, reduced to little more than petty slumlords.
 
Born to Gernot and Orsola Thaler, Klera is the second oldest of their five children. Klera, like her siblings, was forced to find a "trade" as her mother called it. Where once the oldest daughter of the Thaler family would have gone to the College of Immortal Studies, she now found herself sent to Charterhall University's Jayan Hall of Alchemy.
 
Always intrigued by the processes of life and death and rather disappointed by stale and commodified studies, Klera began sneaking out into the city after dark - at first merely to observe, then to use her alchemical and medical skills to help those who needed it, and finally to study the dead.
 
As her night-time activities began to bleed over into the daylight hours, Klera's absence from lectures was noticed. Notified that his younger sister was jeopardising her degree, Milo Thales entered her small apartment near Bellweather Crematorium only to discover a worryingly fresh and partially dissected body on the kitchen table.
 
Returning to find a small crowd of bluecoats milling about outside her apartment, Klera turned and fled into the noise and the crowds of Charhollow.

Her studies frequently leads to the creation of ghosts which isn't great.

Mental Trauma

She's watched a lot of people die during her career as a physicker. Sometimes, it's easier to just bury herself in anatomical and pathological studies - corpses generally don't scream for their mothers.

Motivation

She wants to study the human body to understand life and death. In addition, she wants to use what she's already learned to help the people that the rest of the city doesn't care about. Ineptitudes: She is an awful liar and while she isn't in terrible physical condition, she is far too worried about damaging her hands to get involved in fisticuffs.
