Personal history
Umoaz was born into the Mazguh-clan (2E 565). This was a clan of echatere herders South of Wrothgar. Borgakh gra-Basz, Umoaz's mother was the third wife of Guarug gro-Khazor, the Chief. Since Umoaz was the youngest of 4 (half-)sisters and 3 (half-)brothers, she was brought up without any serious responsibilities. She loved the echatere she took care of, but she loved even more to go on adventures by herself. Discovering caves and fighting animals. Her curiosity had no boundaries. Her brothers trained her how to protect herself and her mother teached her how to forge her own weapons. Her curiousity also brought a lot of carelessness and she walked into trouble easily. One of those times (2E 570) was when she, as child, carelessly walked into the cave of a bear. Luckily for her, her brother Kharag saved her by jumping in and killing the bear, but not before Umoaz got heavily wounded. The bear had left a severe wound on her chest and if it wasn't for her brothers actions, she would have died. But she didn't and after a few weeks, she had enough of laying in bed. In the cave Kharag had found a bearcub and had taken it home and given it to Umoaz. She took care of it and the days in bed weren't that bad anymore. She gave it the name Voshu and the two have been best friends since. When Umoaz was good enough to go outside again and herd the echatere, the bear helped her protecting the animals from outside threats.
Her family teached her to respect nature. If you take something, you have to give something back. If you kill an animal, use all of it. It was more a way to survive than a religion. A way to show respect to that what gave them food .
Around 2E 5675 came rumors to the Stronghold about an Orsimer named Kurog gro-Bagrakh who would have made a deal with King Emeric from the Covenant. He would be gathering forces from other strongholds to unite them as one, with him as the king of the Orsimer. Guarug didn't want to know anything about it, certainly not when the rumor came about the blasphemy the Orsimer introduced. Umoaz was thought not to trust anyone who did not worship Malacath.
Umoaz relationship with her family was good. She respected the rules her father demanded and she worshipped Malacath as they all did. As she grew up, she became stronger. If there were threats from outside the Stronghold, Umoaz was send to solve it with either words or sword. But she wanted more. With the permission of her father, she travelled with their trader to other Strongholds to sell their echateres. Everything was new for her, so far away from her own home. On this travel, she met a mercenary, Ramolg. Since he had to go to the same Stronghold, he joined Umoaz's group. He told her stories of his travels and the fights he had. With every story he told, her mind got more and more set on her new dream. This was what she wanted. Traveling and fighting. The free life. As soon as she came home, she begged her father, but he rejected it and after a while, she had to give up.
Only a year later(2E 581), her brother Kharag defeated Guarug in a duel and he became the new Chief of the Mazguh-Clan. With that, Umoaz was free to go where she wanted. She packed her stuff and left.
The first days were though. Umoaz had never been alone so far outside the Stronghold. She had no idea how to survive in the wild. She had never been free and she had no idea where to go. So she wandered and eventually arrived at a Stronghold where she found her first job. Bandits who threatened the Stronghold. She fought them and from there on, she travled from Stronghold to Stronghold to fight bandits, wild animals, monsters and sometimes to hunt down a person. On her travels she met other Orsimers and other races. She had seen mer and humans before, but had always fought them. Naturally, she was very cautious around them. The first time she saw a Khajiit, she thought her mind was playing tricks on her and made her think wild animals would now cloth themselves and talk like she did. She had almost attacked the Orsimer, who had handed her a drink, for drugging her. She was still not sure what to think about the Argonians. She had only met a few and they appeared very weird to her, with their scaled skin and strange language. Stories about Orsinium reached her, but she ignored it, remembering the lessons she had at home. In her eyes, Orsinium was a place of blaspemous traitors. A place she didn't want to be found dead.
Even though, it was unavoidable, since Orsinium was getting bigger and more important. So even Umoaz had to give in, one day (2E 584), and enter Orsinium. Although, she was very suspicious, she secretly loved the athmosphere in the city. It was also more easily to find work here. With a steady room at the Inn, she started to feel more at home in the large city.
(2E 585) At one of the latest jobs, she met another Orsimer, named Gormag gro-Grull. They were both send to do the same job. Even though they both did not agree with their situation, in the end, they both went to defeat the troll. To her annoyance, Umoaz had a very bad day and Gormag defeated the troll by himself. They did however split the money. From then the two started working together more often.

Strong, with courage and quite intelligent! Im glad i can see her as my daughter and friend...altho i do feel sorry for those that consider her an enemy..because she can surely be terrifying if provoked! Oh and when she sees magic is really funny..hehe..she gets so scared of it..considering her normal behaviour everyone that knows her will probably find it amusing..but oh well! You would kill any daedra for me and I for you. And the moments we had at your house were amazing. You are kind. loving and truly compassionate towards your friend. Well aside from the bruises you give me on my shoulder, but that is orc costum I assume. And a thing I came to enjoy about you. I hope I am able sit down beside you as much as I can so I can tell you stories of the great orcs of Umodia. Like the first time. Mazguh-clan
The Mazguh-Clan is a 5 generations old clan, mainly focussed on herding and breeding echateres. They live in South Wrothgar in a small stronghold, the Mazguh Stronghold. Mazguh is the name of the first generation of the clan who started the echatere bussiness a long time ago. Characteristic for this clan is their love and respect for nature. They teach their children, who will teach their children, to respect the place where they live. To give back what you have taken and never take what you do not need. The clan is friendly to Orsimer from outside the stronghold, but suspicious to all who are not Orsimer.
Guarug gro-Khazor was the oldest of his brothers and sisters and the first to duel his father. After he became chief of the Mazguh-clan, he married his first wife, Rogmesh gra-Gularz. She became the 'Heart-wife'. She was the daughter of a nearby Stronghold with whom they had a peaceful relation for years through marriage and trade. When Rogmesh was pregnant with her first child, Guarug got a second wife, Ulolth gra-Yagarz, later known as the 'Forge-wife'. He married her to solve a dispute between his clan and another clan. However, Ulolth did not become pregnant and they were afraid she would be infertile. So during the war between his clan and Ulolths, Guarug got a third wife, Borgakh gra-Basz. The 'Shield-wife.' She got pregnant the first month after their marriage. Only two years later Ulolth got her first daughter, what meant the end of the war. After that, the Mazguh-clan had a peaceful period. The only ones they had to fight were bandits, lost covenant soldiers and wild animals. Through the years Bashukh gra-Rogmesh, Lazgar gra-Ulolth en Umar gra-Ulolth got married off to other chiefs.
When in 2E 581 Kharag gro-Guarug became chief, he let his family choose, as all the chiefs had done before him. Work for him or leave the stronghold. Most of the family stayed. Only Bashag and his mother Rogmesh left.
Nazrog-clan
After Umoaz had left the Mazguh-clan, it took only a short while until she started missing the Stronghold life. In her adventures however, she met Fengrim gro-Nazrog. Back then still leader of the Adventuring Allies. Fengrim fastly grew protective over Umoaz and Umoaz fastly saw him as a father figure. After they fought to victory over Nazrog Vosh and Fengrim became chieftain of the Nazrog-clan, Umoaz joined his clan. There she met Sharog, Hearth-wife of Fengrim. Both Fengrim and Sharog grew very font of Umoaz as Umoaz grew very font of them. They are like parents to Umoaz and she respects them as such. As Fengrim than also marries Ragash, his Shield-wife, it is as if Umoaz gets another parent. Nazrog Vosh is now her home as the Nazrog-clan is now her family.
Dark clouds have gathered into one dark grey mass above the trees. The quietness betrays the coming storm those clouds represented. Umoaz looks up at the sky and sighs. "Seems like we won't catch that bear today, Voshu." She glances at the bear besides her that gives her an anwering growl. She had been tracking a large black bear for an hour now, but without results. Her hand goes through the thick fur of her compagnon before she pats his flank. "We better try to find a dry place before the hell break out." She had only just said it as large heavy raindrops start to fall. "I should have kept my mouth." The Orsimer rimples her nose as she starts walking further. The large bear calmly saunters after her. The rythmic sound of the rain fills the air and becomes faster and louder. The smell of rain fill the air and brings its freshness storm always brings with it. As Umoaz finally finds a dry place under a large rock, she is already drenched. She shakes her head and whipes her face with her hand. Voshu immitates her by shaking out his whole body. "Voshu!" Umoaz tries to protect herself with her arms from the water coming from the large bear. The bear looks at her briefly and than pushes his wet nose in her face. The clear joyfull laugh of the Orsimer briefly overwhelms the sound of the rain. "We better make ourselves comfortable, as this storm probably will go on for a while." Umoaz takes off her shield and axe and rests them against a smaller rock. She than searches the saddlebags to finally get out a sweetroll packed in some paper. With a wide grin she sits down against the rock and takes a bite of the sweet snack. Voshu stretches and lays himself against Umoaz.
As Umoaz has relished her snack she shifts to lean back against the soft fur of the bear. She wraps her hands behind her head and looks up at the large rock that keeps them dry. Her eyes slowly follow the lines and textures in the gray mass as her mind wanders off to the stronghold she lives in now and the clan she had joined. "Nazrog." She slowly speaks out the name and she briefly glances at Voshu who looks bored at the falling rain. "What do you think, Voshu? They seem like a good clan, don't they?" Her gaze moves back up. She did not really expect an answer from the bear. Luktav was right. She could have returned to her old clan, help her brother at the stronghold in Wrothgar. He would probably be married by now. Maybe even have children. But she was not ready to turn back. She had left to see the world and she had only seen Wayrock. Waystorm? Highrest? Umoaz shakes her head. Besides, she had grown very font of her new chieftain. He was like a father to her, almost literally. A small chuckle escapes her as she looks back on how Fengrim tries to teach her the map of Tamriel. Umoaz raises her hand and points with her finger in the air. "Wrothgar." She moves her finger up. "Skyrim." Her finger goes left. "Vaal...Vale...land with large trees." Her vinger moves right. "Wayrock." And down. "Cyr...Cyr.." The Orsimer scratches her head and than shrugs. "I think it was something like that." She glances again at Voshu. "Where would you like to go, Voshu? I want to see those large trees. They say those small elves live in them. Can't be right? Trees that big." She spreads her arms before her and looks between her hands. "I should ask Fengrim how to get there." She rimples her nose as she thinks of the portals. Bloody guju everywhere. She was glad the stronghold was almost clean of the disturbing magics. Except for that ghost. And that Altmer Fenwyre. Umoaz growls lowly. She didn't really seem like a bad person. If she would just stop doing tricks on her.
Her gaze than turns sad as the thought of Azzy crosses her mind. The Dunmer who she had counted as friend, but betrayed her. Her sadness fastly turns into anger and she briefly bares her teeth at the rock above her. She had been cought into some guju ice and instead of getting her out, Azzy had used his own guju to take away her consciousness. Working together with the one who had put her into ice. He said he meant well, but she just couldn't see how. She had no idea how to trust him again.
Umoaz growls as her anger triggers another memory. The one about Shaasia, her best friend. The Orsimer clenches her fist. The girl had been turned into a vampire, the thing Umoaz had been fighting since... well, always. Her friend had turned into a monster and there was nothing she could do to protect her. To get her friend back. Instead she was forced to accept it. Yes, she had had so many chances to kill the girl, but she never could do it. It was her weakness and she knew it. Now she had agreed to keep an eye on the beast that once was her best friend. To let her live in her house. Only so she would be the one to make an end to it if something went wrong. If she could do it. Umoaz closes her eyes for a moment and takes a deep breath. She had made friends here in Wayrock and also lost friends. Kess, who had been the only Kahjiit she did not have a fight with and who had become a good friend. She only knew he had died figthing, like a true hero. Which was somehow a relief. He had earned his place in the Ash Pit. Or whatever place those cats go to.
With her hand Umoaz rubs her face and lets out another growl. She than looks up. The rain has had its worst and it was slowly calming down. With her hand she pats Voshu as she stands up. "What do you think? Shall we go further?"
