Personal history
Mira was secretly adopted by her grandfather's oldest friend Baron Killin Delphi. She was taken in after her grandparents, father, and members of the Royal family were killed by a mysterious disease. The disease ravaged the family until the current king, Marcus Julius the 3rd, and Mira's cousin, found a cure in time to save the rest.
What no one knows is that King Marcus was the one who created the disease, a fact Mira's father uncovered just before his death. Mira's mother, who was secretly pregnant, hid her daughter away with Baron Killian, she made him promise to raise Mira while she left to find the evidence her husband uncovered, she never returned and is officially declared missing.
Growing up, Mira was a very cheerful child with few difficulties she was well-loved by her adoptive parents, (whom she believed to be her real mother and father). Her abilities developed at the early age of six, Mira found that she could lift things with her mind and also hear the thoughts of the people around her. In her later years, she also learned how to create protective shields and even fly.
When she turned sixteen, her parents told her the true origin of her birth and the meaning of the royal necklace she had carried with her since birth. They told Mira that the king was her cousin and he murdered his family and of the disappearance of her mother. The Duke and his wife did not tell Mira what to do with this information but promised to support her decision. After long contemplation, Mira decided that someone has to stop her power-hungry cousin and take back the throne of Ruanah for good.
Mira became a courtesan in training a few months after her birthday and began to learn how her government works, while also gaining a few glimpses at her cousin. She worked hard to establish herself as a loyal subject under his rule and create ties within the court. Like all SC's, at the age of eighteen, she joined the Astraenauts academy to gain better control of her abilities.
Education
1-16: Mira was educated by the best tutors in the nation. Art, history, music, reading, writing, culture, arithmetic, and various other skills were all taught to the only child of the Delphi's.
16-18: Mira became a courtesan in training, as is usual for most royal children other than joining the military or apprenticing under a wealthy corporation. Here she learned much about government operations as well as law work and diplomacy.
18-24: Mira has been a student at the Astraenauts Academy learning how to better control her abilities as well as the cultures of the other nations surrounding Ruanah.
Employment
Mira is currently a student of the Astraenauts Academy with a position as a full courtesan within the Ruanah royal court waiting for her upon her return.
Accomplishments & Achievements
Irrigation Reform: In her time as a courtesan Mira became a shrewd diplomat managing to get a bill passed through the court, even as an apprentice. The bill allowed the farmers of her moon to pay cheaper prices for the water they import from Omoia which has better minerals for planting. The bill has been a success with the people back home allowing for the farming communities to produce better quality crops at a lower price. This has gained her a bit of fame both within noble circles and the commoners of her home.
Poetry: On a personal note, she also writes poetry. A few of these have won awards.
Failures & Embarrassments
Controlling her abilities has been a great struggle for Mira, especially telekinetics. For reasons unknown to Mira, occasionally the things she picks up tend to explode. The worst of these occasions was when a neighboring royal house came to visit her father to discuss a trade deal, a few of Delphi's SCs in exchange for mining rights within the diamond mines on the house's lands.
House Renal wanted a demonstration of the power level within house Delphi, so Killian called upon his daughter to prove their strength. Mira showed off her shielding and flying capability, but Renal was still not impressed so she decided to use her telekinetic abilities. The lord of house Renal offered up his pet snake for the demonstration, Mira gently lifted the snake about 50ft into the air and held it in the air for about 10 minutes. Yet as she began to bring the snake down she could feel fluctuations in her power stream and decided to let the snake go early. It fell from a nearly 30ft drop and scampered off into the house before a large explosion happened directly above the lord, knocking off his wig and snapping the bindings of his wife's dress.
It would end up being years before her father acquired those mining rights.
Mental Trauma
Mira has a great fear of in-atmosphere flight. When she was ten, her parents sent her to camp for noble children on the Talaria content. On her return home from the camp, the aircraft she was in malfunctioned and resulted in Mira's bodyguards having to parachute her to safety. Yet as she and the guard fell, the chute malfunctioned neither it nor the backup would deploy. As the ground rapidly approached and instinct overtook her, moments before hitting the ground, Mira created a shield around herself and the guard. The two hovered there for a few seconds before finally landing, after that Mira refused to fly in aircraft, fortunately, she has learned to fly herself since then.
