Princess Hyacinth Fischbach is the Princess of Cartham and heir presumptive to the throne. The only child of King Liam Fischbach and his wife Zelda, Hyacinth is the first halfling heir to the throne, as well as the first female heir to the throne.
Appearance
Physical Description
Hyacinth is of average human height, slightly taller than most girls her age. Lean and lightly muscled, she is capable of carrying a sword and shield. She moves swiftly, though she lacks her mother's grace. Her chest is almost entirely flat. By the end of the Great War, she has several scars on her body and face.
Hyacinth has long, thick blonde hair, usually tied into three long braids. Her eyes are wide and blue, and she is fair-skinned. Hyacinth has thick blonde eyebrows. She is tall and lean and prefers to dress like the smallfolk in comfortable dresses. She is also often seen with flowers in her hair.
Body Features
Hyacinth is tall and lean, and is fair-skinned. Her ears are small and pointed.
Facial Features
Hyacinth has thick eyebrows and a dimple on her chin.
Identifying Characteristics
After the funeral of her father, Hyacinth bears scars on her arms from Solace.
Physical quirks
Hyacinth, like her mother, is left-handed. Because she was born premature, Hyacinth's ears had not fully developed by the time of her birth. Though they should be rounded due to her primarily human heritage, her ears appear to be slightly pointed at the end, causing some to believe that she ought to possess inherent magic like her mother.
Apparel & Accessories
Hyacinth's gowns bear nearly the same amount of regalia as her parents', though her dresses are less embellished than her mother's. Her clothing clearly shows her to be well above other women of the nobility thereby indicating her relationship to House Fischbach. Furs are used extensively in her wardrobe, as are silks for trimming and golden threads for lace work. Most of her dresses bear pearls and jewels sewn into them as a clear indication of her regal link. Her gowns are usually overlapped and very tight-laced, with low necklines and girdled hips. Some of her gowns bear an open surcoat.
As she finds her formal gowns to be uncomfortable, Hyacinth prefers to dress more simply. Her usual outfit consists of a blue chemise, a brown kirtle with slashed bag sleeves, brown hose, and brown leather boots. She frequently wears a blue hooded cape, a leather belt and satchel, and brown and blue leather gloves. Hyacinth is known to weave flowers into her hair. Her armor consists of a cuirass, spaulders, and besagues, as well as a blue waistcloth. She also wears bronze vambraces.
When attending worship, Hyacinth's outfit consists of brown hose, leather boots, a white smock with an open skirt, a light blue coat trimmed with dark blue and gold, a leather belt, leather spaulders, and a dark stole emblazoned with golden runes.
Hyacinth's Yule Ball dress consists of three separate skirts; the longest being green and striped in color, and the other two being red and violet and frayed at the edges; a fourth skirt of faux velour leaves trimmed with gold; a beaded red caraco trimmed with green and gold, with striped green sleeves and violet frayed embellishments; and a holly crown and holly pins in her hair.
Specialized Equipment
Hyacinth carries an enchanted rapier named Goldenrod, which is almost identical to her mother's rapier, Trinity. She is also gifted with a crossbow and, to a lesser extent, a bow. The royal sword Solace also deems her worthy of wielding it.
Special abilities
Hyacinth does not believe she wields any magical power, despite her mother being half-Goddess. However, strange things do seem to happen when Hyacinth is in dire need.

Personal history
Early life
Hyacinth was born on the thirteenth day of Midsummer in 1084, before she was full-term. Her mother collapsed upon returning to the Royal Castle and was treated by a legion of Crownguards, midwives and doctors. Many feared that the queen and the child would not survive, and her father notably needed to be sedated by Hyacinth’s grandmother Isabel Kross in order to stop worrying over his wife and unborn child.
After an extremely painful labor process, Zelda gave birth to a baby girl who did not cry. Though her father believed her to be dead, her mother sang her an ancient lullaby and Hyacinth began to scream. Her mother named her after the fragrant spring flower.
When Hyacinth was an infant, her mother noticed that her gaze often fell upon the holy sword Solace when she was in its presence, often staring at its place behind the throne for long periods of time. The queen found this behavior troubling, and attempted to avoid having Hyacinth spend too much time in the sword's proximity. Hyacinth would later claim that she felt as though the sword was "calling" her as a child.
Hyacinth was raised in general seclusion, only ever playing with her cousins and the other children in the castle. Among her early childhood friends was a serving boy named Vitus Luck, the son of a deceased Crownguard and a serving woman. Hyacinth took to rebellion at an early age, only faring adequately in her lessons and often sneaking out of the castle or otherwise getting into mischief. Though her father found her attitude endearing, her mother was extremely strict and kept Hyacinth under constant supervision by the Crownguard.
Hyacinth's royal tutor quickly became disappointed in the princess' lackluster academic performance and attempted to guide her away from such pursuits as swordfighting, which were considered unbecoming of a princess. By the age of twelve, Hyacinth was already convinced she would not live up to everyone’s expectations, and resigned herself to living in the shadow of her parents.
The Great War
Labhruinn
Hyacinth, alongside her personal guards Olaf and Ralof Finekin, traveled to Graywater Marsh in order to speak with her aunt Caecelia Herriot about her upcoming diplomacy trip to the Ambersight city of Labhruinn. Caecelia attempted to teach Hyacinth Ambersight decorum before entrusting her with a charm intended to protect the princess from harm.
Prior to Samhain, Hyacinth and a small party of Crownguards including Sir Fineas Ramshart traveled to Labhruinn in an attempt to negotiate peace with Queen Phrowenia La Valentine. Shortly after arriving in the city, Hyacinth was attacked by Princess Valeria La Valentine, only to challenge her belief that Queen Ianira was killed by House Fischbach and cause her to obsessively research the exact circumstances surrounding her ancient ancestor's murder.
Upon reaching Ravenspire, Hyacinth attempted to placate Queen Phrowenia. The Ambersight Queen refused Hyacinth's offerings and insulted her for her impure blood. Hyacinth's failure in negotiating quickly became well-known and she was once again forced to deal with her mother's disappointment and the disapproval of the kingdom.
On one such occasion, the Ambersight Elf Cadmus Lallement insulted Hyacinth. Vitus slapped Cadmus before forcing him to kneel and beg for Hyacinth's forgiveness. Though usually affronted by being treated as better than other people, she admitted she liked having Cadmus kneel to her.
An Unlikely Ally
While preparing for bed one night, Hyacinth thought she heard someone moving around in her room. She soon discovered that the noise was actually coming from the balcony outside of her room. She readied Goldenrod and moved to face her unexpected guest, to discover that it was none other than Princess Valeria. Though Valeria introduced herself as a friend, Hyacinth recounted that the last time they had seen each other, Valeria had tried to kill her. Valeria revealed that she had discovered the truth about Ianira's demise; that she had been murdered by her own Confessors on the orders of her daughter Tourmaline. She revealed that she had joined les Enragés and learned Shadowmancy, and that she had witnessed even greater horrors than those of her own people within the labyrinth of Labhruinn.
Dragon Springs
On their way to the village of Dragon Springs, Hyacinth and Vitus encountered an ancient silver dragon known as Elranth, who informed them of Phrowenia's knowledge of an ancient spell known as the Clade, responsible for destroying the world over a thousand years ago. Hyacinth then became one of the only living people to know of the spell and the apocalypse it wrought, and became obsessed with researching the ancient civilization of Gladmoria.
Daibhidh
On a trip to the Stoneheart city of Daibhidh, Queen Saelihn Redstone insisted that she would only ally herself with House Fischbach if Hyacinth also earned the approval of the self-stylized King of the Dwarves, Ranmir Ironhammer. As Hyacinth had inquired about the labyrinths in Saelihn's domain, Saelihn attempted to convince the princess to travel to Great Daruhm by telling her that they had a survivor of the labyrinth.
Upon arriving in Great Daruhm, Hyacinth met with Lord Ironhammer. He agreed to take her to see the survivor, an emaciated dwarf named Rolf. Hyacinth was put off by his disturbing appearance, but knew that he was involved in the Gladmorans' dark magic because of the sigils carved onto every surface in his cell. The dwarf claimed to be a mere vessel for something else, and appeared to recognize Hyacinth. After upsetting the creature, it began to shift into a monstrosity not unlike the ones Valeria described in the labyrinth. Hyacinth escaped the chamber before Rolf could get ahold of her, though Lord Ironhammer and his guards were horrified by the spectacle.
It then became Hyacinth's duty to recruit the other Elven Queens to support House Fischbach in the coming war against the Ambersight, to no avail. However, Hyacinth's growing connections with the Elves gained her allies in the form of Princesses Dusk and Dawn Eventide of the Riversong, as well as Valeria of the Ambersight.
Upon returning to Cartham City, Hyacinth was stopped by Cadmus Lallement, who knelt before her once again. Confused, Hyacinth asked what he was doing, and he responded in a confused manner as well, as he believed that it was human custom to kneel before the princess. He explained that he witnessed his father killing a halfling woman, and that he was afraid he would be forced to do the same. Hyacinth accepted his apologies and considered him an ally, much to her friends' bewilderment.
The Siege of Cartham City
Hyacinth and her parents were informed of the Tragedy of Floraidh, and knew that Phrowenia was on the war path to Cartham City. As the military began to prepare, Liam suggested that Hyacinth and Zelda flee for their own safety. Hyacinth refused, insisting that she wanted to take part in the battle.
Hyacinth was awoken by the sound of a battering ram, and sped to the observation room, where she saw Cartham City in flames. Valeria appeared by her side and hastened their retreat, though Hyacinth wanted to remain and fight. They were spotted by Zelda, who initially moved to attack Valeria. Hyacinth quickly spoke in Valeria's favor, insisting that she was a powerful ally and that she had already helped House Fischbach. Valeria once again insisted that the royals flee. Once meeting with Liam, they made their way to the castle's library, where a secret passageway led to an escape route out of the castle.
While Liam struggled to open the passageway, Valeria was able to open the way and reseal it with her powerful magic. They found the torches in the passage already lit, and Valeria voiced her concerns that someone may have already come this way. She asked if anyone would know of the location of the passages, and Liam informed them all that they had been built as a failsafe after Ceiridwen's reign of terror. The only people who knew of the passages were the most trusted members of the Crownguard and the King himself. Hyacinth was surprised that there had been a secret passageway underneath her nose the entire time she was researching the Gladmorans in the library, as she had considered herself an expert on the castle's secrets.
Once reaching the secret docks under the castle, they discovered that their escape boats had been destroyed. Though Zelda was suspicious of Valeria, Hyacinth was more concerned that someone else they had been close to had betrayed them. They managed to get outside, only to be spotted by an Ambersight soldier. Hyacinth shot a crossbow bolt directly into the elf's eye, and Valeria disposed of the body in the water below.
They continued to maneuver through the secret passages underneath the castle. They finally came to an exit out of the city, only to be ambushed by a legion of Ambersight soldiers and Phrowenia herself. Though Valeria attempted to attack, she was stopped by her sister Violet. Phrowenia revealed that they had been betrayed by Hyacinth's cousin Vesperia, and that it had been Violet's idea to ambush them as they believed they had escaped. Liam was thrown into the royal dungeons underneath the castle while Valeria was imprisoned in the castle's tallest tower to await execution. Hyacinth and Zelda, meanwhile, were chained up in the throne room and tortured for House Ambersight's amusement as Archmage Cyprien Allard began work on the Clade.
Zelda lamented that she was meant to be the Peacebringer, but she had only brought the kingdom strife and war.
Vitus and Caecelia freed Liam from the dungeons before rescuing Zelda and Hyacinth as well. Caecelia discovered that Vesperia had betrayed her family and incapacitated her with powerful magic. Vesperia was brought along as a prisoner. However, Zelda was badly weakened by her torturing and was unable to keep up with everyone else. She sacrificed herself to ensure everyone else's escape, surrendering herself to the Ambersight soldiers as Liam, Hyacinth, and their allies fled.
The Sanctuary
Hyacinth, Liam, and the remnants of the Crownguard and Royal Army took refuge in the Sanctuary in Maoldonaich. While there, they reunited with Lydia, Olaf, Ralof, Fineas, and Albend. The remnants of House Healleaf were also hiding in the Sanctuary.
Hyacinth began sparring in the courtyard of the Sanctuary by herself, causing Princess Ciara MacMahon to take notice of her. Ciara offered to spar with Hyacinth, but was disappointed to discover that she was very poorly trained. She agreed to train Hyacinth. Between her training with Ciara and other members of House Warthorn's guard, Hyacinth was eventually able to beat Ciara in sparring sessions.
Hyacinth and her allies remained in Maoldonaich for approximately a year, during which Phrowenia ruled the kingdom with an iron fist and began the spell known as the Clade. Hyacinth quickly became impatient, worrying about her mother as well as the impending apocalypse.
Rescuing the Queen
Hyacinth went behind her father's back, speaking to Queen Naumys and the de facto Queen of Floraidh, Althea Thalrad. They agreed they wanted to act against Phrowenia soon, and pledged their banners to Hyacinth. Liam and the remnants of the Crownguard and the Royal Army who had been hiding with them also answered Hyacinth's call to arms the next morning.
House Fischbach, House Warthorn, House Healleaf, and their allies began their march from Maoldonaich before dawn. They were ambushed by a pair of mounted Ambersight archers, one of whom was a Confessor along Shadow Canyon Pass. They reached Blackhelm Bridge just after midday. They were forced to deal with an Ogre that had taken up residence on the bridge.
After crossing the bridge, they were ambushed once again by an Ambersight Confessor, who was dispatched easily. Their fight with the Confessor attracted the attention of two Trolls. They passed by the abandoned Bastion of Carthia's Light on the way back to the city. Shortly after passing by the ruins of the Bastion, they were ambushed by yet another Ambersight Confessor who put up a decent challenge.
As the sun began to set, they caught the first glimpse of the city and the castle. The castle appears to be engulfed in a cloud of black magic, which Hyacinth immediately recognizes as the Clade.
They attempt to help a crying civilian on the side of the road, who reveals themselves to be an Interloper in disguise. Shortly thereafter, they were ambushed by another Ambersight Confessor who offered a decent challenge. Goblins from the nearby forest also fought against them. It began to rain as night fell. Once at the Exchange ruins, they found some smallfolk picking through the rubble. They set up camp for the night in the ruins.
The next morning, they left before dawn once again. As the sun rose, they were greeted by a view of the ruined garrison. At the garrison, they were ambushed by Sylvie LeBeau. They began to move toward the village of Orilon, which was also ruined. Hyacinth went with Sir Fineas Ramshart to his family's farm, which had been destroyed. They were met by the three Deshoulières brothers, Anton, Julien, and Nicolas and engaged in battle with them and a small contingent of Ambersight Elves. Shortly thereafter, they were also met by Antigone Barnave, Cleon Bélanger, and Calypsie.
After fighting Phrowenia's men, they made camp for the night and planned their attack on the city itself.
The Great Battle of Cartham City
In Hyacinth's hands, the holy sword glowed, causing her father to allow her to take it with her in order to rescue her mother. Prior to scaling the city walls, Hyacinth used the sword to cut several feet off of her hair. She donned her typical cloak before beginning her infiltration.
Hyacinth and her friends managed to infiltrate the city, while the surviving inhabitants of the destroyed capital answered King Liam's call to arms. Hyacinth recognized the beacon of light coming from the castle as her mother and turned her attention toward her former home, infiltrating the castle and engaging Phrowenia in battle. Hyacinth managed to weaken Phrowenia enough for the usurper queen to retreat into the castle, only to be captured by a statue of Ianira and killed by her own daughter, Violet La Valentine. Shocked, Hyacinth began to fight Violet, who easily overpowered her. Just as she was about to die, she found that her wounds were miraculously healed. Valeria had escaped from the tallest tower to aid in the battle.
The intensity of the battle only increased when Violet was forced to face her own twin sister. Despite Violet's vicious attacks, Valeria still attempted to reason with her sister, who appeared to have been driven to the brink of madness by Valeria's betrayal. Valeria and Hyacinth managed to defeat Violet, ending the Great War.
Hyacinth attended the ceremony where Althea was formally crowned Queen of Floraidh, and Valeria was crowned Queen of Labhruinn. After the ceremony ended, Valeria reminded Hyacinth that the fight still wasn't over; something was still happening with the ancient labyrinths.
The Gladmoran Threat
Though the Great War had concluded and peace was restored to the kingdom, Hyacinth continued to be haunted by Valeria's tales of the labyrinth as well as her encounter with Rolf. She attempted in vain to convince her mother of the importance of what she had seen, but was reassured that the threat had passed with the destruction of the Clade.
Mausoleum Circle
However, upon visiting Valeria in Labhruinn, Hyacinth learned that the Blight that afflicted the Wastelands had not recovered as Valeria had expected. Instead, it continued to spread at an alarming rate, which only served to worsen Valeria's mental state. Valeria mentioned that her mother had kept the body of her grandfather, Sylvain Blackwell, in one of Ravenspire's towers, prompting Hyacinth to inquired what had happened to his body. When Valeria replied that he had been buried in the royal crypts below Mausoleum Circle, Hyacinth insisted that they go there.
Once in the royal crypts, Hyacinth and Valeria discovered that Sylvain's body had been removed. Valeria suggested grave robbery, though Hyacinth pointed out that the burial had been secret, and that any potential grave robbers would have attempted to defile Sylvain's body years ago. They then checked the vaults of several other members of House Ambersight, only to discover their bodies had disappeared as well. Hyacinth then asked where Ianira was buried.
Queen Ianira's Tomb
Valeria hesitantly accompanied Hyacinth to Queen Ianira's Tomb, and insisted that the Blight had originated from the tomb itself, beginning shortly after Ianira's burial. When Hyacinth asked to enter the crypt below, Valeria was affronted, as it was considered a sacred place and had not been opened for one thousand years. However, Hyacinth implied that the dark magic of the labyrinth may have manipulated Ianira's body, prompting Valeria to open the crypt and venture inside.
Immediately, Hyacinth recognized that the air did not smell nearly as ancient as she had expected, causing Valeria to remind her that the crypt had not been accessed for one thousand years. Hyacinth continued to doubt this as they descended into the depths below. Once they finally reached Ianira's vault, Valeria hesitated to open it. However, she relented and Hyacinth and Valeria found themselves face-to-face with the ancient Ambersight queen. Hyacinth commented that she was "beautiful", but found that Valeria was horrified. Valeria reminded Hyacinth that Ianira had been dead for one thousand years, and that she should be little more than bones and dust.
Valeria then revealed thousands of Gladmoran glyphs etched all over the crypt's walls, floors and ceilings, centering around Ianira's tomb. Hyacinth recognized the glyphs as "one thousand years worth of magic".
Noirmout
Hyacinth and Valeria traveled to the ruins of Noirmout, a Gladmoran ruin shrouded in perpetual darkness, where Valeria was convinced Ianira may have been hiding. While there, they stumbled into a trap laid by Ianira. They were subsequently attacked by several revenants. The pair struggled to fight them off before they accidentally caught the revenants on fire with their torch. Hyacinth then dispensed the rest of them with a sudden burst of magic.
Ianira and the Council
Hyacinth was present to see Ianira fight off the Revenants, only to request to speak with Valeria privately. Hyacinth expressed worry over Valeria, who only assured her that she would do what needed to be done to save the kingdom. Hyacinth was relieved that Valeria managed to get Ianira to testify to the Royal Council that she had been killed by Tourmaline and Aleron's treachery and been sustained by the Gladmorans' dark magic. She was unaware of what Valeria had promised her in return.
Everything fell apart at the Council meeting, however. Ianira felt increasingly uncomfortable under the Council's scrutiny. When she recognized Queen Zelda as the Peacebringer and the Goddess reborn, Ianira's eyes turned blue just as Rolf's had a year prior. Though Hyacinth and Valeria attempted to intervene, Ianira demanded to know the Goddess' final resting place before shearing through several Crownguard. Hyacinth watched in horror as her father stepped in to defend her mother, only to be thrust through with a sword. Devastated, Hyacinth abandoned everything to cradle her dying father. Her reaction snapped Ianira out of her state, but Hyacinth didn't notice. Even as Ianira disappeared, she watched her father die in her arms.
Funeral of King Liam I
Hyacinth made a wreath of flowers that was placed on her father's coffin in the castle's temple. It remained there as it was moved from the castle to the Great Temple of Gloriana, during the vigil, and as it was moved to its final resting places at the Sacred Ground Burial Site. Hyacinth and her mother followed the coffin in a carriage of their own as it was moved. Once at the burial site, Hyacinth dropped a handful of soil from the castle grounds onto her father's coffin.
After her father's funeral, Hyacinth was found sitting in the her father's throne, cradling the holy sword in her arms. The sword had cut through the sleeves of her dress and into her arms, but she appeared unaware of this.
A mysterious woman by the name of Coury demanded an audience with the mourning queen and princess, and was admitted because she claimed to be the lost ancient princess of House Ambersight, Corentine. She wanted answers concerning a woman who was wandering the Forgotten Forest, claiming to be Ianira. Together, they surmised that Ianira was searching for the Goddess' mortal body so that it could be raised by the Gladmorans. Coury believed that she was searching the Forgotten Forest because it was where she had claimed the Goddess was laid to rest when she fled from Labhruinn centuries ago. They also believed that the Gladmorans would be nigh unstoppable if they controlled the Goddess' mortal form.
After the meeting, Hyacinth found Coury lingering around a portrait of her. She watched Hyacinth with a strange expression, and asked if the portrait was of her. She then asked about what had happened to her hair. She told Hyacinth that she had something to show her, and asked her to meet her on the edge of the Forgotten Forest only with those she trusted.
Coury took Hyacinth to the Forgotten Temple, where heroes of legend were honored in ages past. Once there, Hyacinth examined the various reliefs on the walls before noticing the massive scene at the end of the Hall of Stories. It depicted what appeared to be the Clade destroying Gladmoria, with the Goddess protecting the world from total annihilation. At her side was a startling likeness of Hyacinth in the form of a knight with long, braided hair, wielding a glowing sword. She placed Solace into the crevice where the sword appeared, opening further chambers that had been sealed for over one thousand years.
When Vitus returned from the Desert of Seven Sands, Queen Valeria showed him that Hyacinth appeared to be descending into madness, driven primarily by a desire to avenge her father's death. Hyacinth took to avoiding Vitus, believing that he would realize that she was not the girl he thought he once knew. She became convinced that she was merely an impostor, living inside of the Goddess' body, and that her relationship with Vitus was manufactured by the gods so that he would willingly die in her service. The fact that he continued to love her regardless terrified her, and caused her to shut herself away from him completely.
Hyacinth dashed to the throne room, where she knew her father's shade would be searching for Solace. After seeing the shade, Hyacinth struggled to calm herself before stepping forward and challenging it.
When the revenant claimed to be her father, she recognized it instead as the very thing that had murdered him. Hyacinth drove Solace into the chest of her revenant father, spraying herself with ichor.
Later life
Hyacinth continued to have strong alliances with Queen Valeria of the Ambersight, Queen Althea of the Healleaf, Queen Naumys of the Warthorn, and Princesses Dawn and Dusk of the Riversong. She married Vitus Luck and went on to have at least one child, a son named Andrew. She would become the first female Fischbach to inherit the throne upon her father's death.

She becomes an expert in the ancient Gladmoran civilization, and exhibits significant knowledge on the past rulers of Cartham and the history of the kingdom as a whole.
Morality & Philosophy
Hyacinth was taught from a young age to always consider the good of the kingdom and its people before all else. Her combative skills are not matched by her knowledge, as she has always been an average student and rarely exerts too much effort in her studies. She is constantly reprimanded for her lack of manners and tact, and tends to be too brash and reckless to be a "proper" princess.
Hyacinth finds many traditionally feminine tasks to be difficult, including needlework. She grows easily frustrated with such tasks, believing that she lacks the patience and grace to perform as expected. She is jealous of other women who are capable of doing the tasks expected of them.

Virtues & Personality perks
Hyacinth is an extremely brave young woman, having always been driven to do what she believed was right regardless of the consequences. She has been known to sneak out of the Royal Castle; though these excursions were believed to have been attempts to explore, Hyacinth was in fact sharing gold and silks with the smallfolk in order to save them from poverty and starvation. She is considered "the people's princess," as her opinions resemble those of the lower classes rather than the nobility.
Vices & Personality flaws
Hyacinth is considered by many to be extremely reckless, willing to sneak out of the Royal Castle on her own and risk her life without the Crownguard to protect her. She is also extremely stubborn, and is extremely difficult to dissuade from a course of action after she has decided on it.
Hygiene
Hyacinth's hair is almost always a mess, and she attempts to tame her wild blonde locks by tying them in three separate braids. Otherwise, she bathes regularly and attempts to be clean enough to escape her mother's reprimands. She does tend to stain her clothing with her adventuring, much to her mother's dismay.

Contacts & Relations
Hyacinth is friendly with the Princesses of Cairistiona, Dusk and Dawn Eventide, and well-liked by most smallfolk of Cartham due to her humbleness. She is held in high regard by Queen Unae Locklear of the Pixiefoot after meeting her in Raild. She also garners respect from Queen Althea Thalrad of the Healleaf, Princess Valeria La Valentine of the Ambersight, and Queen Naumys MacMahon of the Warthorn.
Honorary & Occupational Titles
Princess of Cartham
Wealth & Financial state
Born into House Fischbach, Hyacinth has never been in need of money. As such, she does not have much of an understanding of frugality and the lives of the poor. She does her best to remain modest and understanding, though she is notoriously terrible at hiding her first reaction. Having an extremely poor best friend, Hyacinth is somewhat used to seeing poverty, but the varying degrees are blurry and confusing to her. She has been known to steal from the Royal Treasury in order to give to the poor.
Family Ties
House Fischbach can supposedly trace their bloodline directly to the Goddess. Having ruled Cartham since the year 30, the Fischbachs are one of the most famous and wealthy of the Carthian families. As such, they are not without their enemies. Over the years, the Fischbachs have diverged from their apparent holiness, one of Hyacinth’s ancestors being the bastard of a deserter king and a prostitute. The Fischbachs have been the targets of scrutiny, protests, and several assassination attempts, though Hyacinth’s parents are beloved by nearly all Carthians.
The Kross family was originally human, though Hyacinth's great-grandfather interbred with a dryad woman and had twin daughters. As such, Hyacinth's grandmother Isabel Kross is half-human, half-dryad. Her grandfather, Krieger was full-blooded human, with distant Djanni ancestry. The family are descendants of House Kross, a noble family long thought extinct.
Religious Views
Hyacinth believes in the Goddess, though she becomes skeptical of Her actual existence and power as people compare her to her mother, who is believed to be half-Goddess. Unable to use any of her mother's magical power, Hyacinth tends to be cynical about prayer and faith, though she desperately wishes to please the Goddess.
Social Aptitude
Hyacinth is extroverted, though she prefers a close group of friends whom she can trust to an entire horde. She is well-liked by most, though she isn't sure if it is because of her personality or her royal status. She is awkward when confronted by an authority figure, as she desperately aims to please.
Hobbies & Pets
Hyacinth most enjoys exploring in her free time, traipsing through the forests of Cartham and throughout Cartham City itself, usually disguised wearing a hooded cloak. She also loves horseback riding, as well as more intellectual pursuits such as reading, stargazing, and playing the violin.
Speech
Hyacinth's voice is lilted, though deeper in pitch than most other girls'. She has an accent typical of residents of Cartham City, and tends to use complex language without realizing it.
