No pirate's life for me

by Cloud in the Valley of the Shining Waters

Life sure takes some turns.
I got lost in my search for Orolunga and stumbled my way through the jungle, only to find myself at the gates of some encampment one evening.
Wanting to get some directions, or at least a better vantage from where to find my own way, I knocked on the gate.
The person who opened up seemed a little rough, but friendly and she invited me in. After conversing for a few moments she suddenly smiled and my eyes went out as something hit me in the back of my head.
When I woke up I found myself in a small cave, maybe 12 metres between walls, with the entrance blocked by metal bars and a door, which was locked shut.
All of my gear had been taken, the sun was completely gone by this point and looking out I could only see sea water a metre or so from the bars, as in, the water could very well wash in on a bad day. Luckily it was a relatively calm night.
Noise woke me up. Noise of battle. It turns out that a group of adventurers was trying to break in, only for three of them to end up in the same cell as I. It was at this point I learned that I was in a small bay where pirates have set up camp.
They woke up a few hours later, telling me that they assaulted the camp because there was a price on the pirates and their ships, then one of them took out a knife hidden in their shoe, only to magically teleport herself and one of the other prisoners to the bank on the other side of the bay.
Not long after they disappeared out of sight. I took the lack of guards to break the door lock, but this didn't get us far. To our left a tall wooden structure was blocking our way and to our right the cliffs went on.
We sat down, waiting to see if the two others would come back for us.
They did. By blowing a hole in the wooden structure and lowering a rope to let us up, which was a bit unexpected.
The wooden structure housed the pirate treasures, which included my old gear, and a large amount of platinum, gold silver and copper.

Sooo, here's a top tip for all of you: don't fail a saving throw by more than five if a medusa is involved. Valley is now a statue in Nangalore. Because the group I was playing with was a playing a little too mechanically I left it, but I would like to see the end of the module so if you need a player, send me a message. #dnd #lfg

Hmmmm, in the largest building there is a pot with ashes and a statue of a human that is looking like it is trying to take the pot. I must say I have never seen craftsmanship such as this, even individual hairs are made out of stone.

02:49 pm - 11.06.2019

Even the normal flowers are dangerous in here. I want to find the black flower and leave.

02:46 pm - 11.06.2019

Reached Nangalore

It turns out that Nangalore was only a few days of travel away from Kir Sabal. It is an old place, a crumbling temple of some kind I'd say.

11:16 am - 09.06.2019

The view is amazing from up here, even if a few of the party got hurt in the process of not falling 600 feet to the ground below. This old monastery of Kir Sabal is the home to a group of Aarakokra who are housing a chultan who is claiming to be the true leader of Chult, but they require a black orchid from a place called "Nangalore" in order to prove it. They want us to retrieve it in return for the exact location of Omu and a blessing of flight to get us there.

07:46 pm - 08.06.2019

Reached Kir Sabal

Well, we are finally here! Sort of, the buildings are very high up and the walkway seems in need of repair. There are Aarekokra flying around, looking at us. Will update once at the top.

03:04 pm - 04.06.2019

Cleaned a statue

We are now past the basin and travelled about a day, when we found an old statue to Ubtao. One of my companions was kind enough to help me remove all of the vines and undergrowth from it.

08:00 am - 04.06.2019

Travel continues on. We are now travelling eastwards in a boat across, what I am told, is the "Aldani Basin". According to a book by Volo, it is so called because a cursed people live here, who are called Aldani. Why is it that names are sometimes really complicated and without meaning, and others are short, to the point and descriptive?

07:23 pm - 03.06.2019

We've been travelling towards Kir Sabal for a few days now and we've encountered a group of scouts from the Emerald enclave. They are nice enough to let us join their camp and even offer us some stew (the stew could use some salt though).

07:03 am - 03.06.2019

We are out of Orolunga. I am still processing what we found inside: A spirit naga called Saja N'basa. A human face on a giant snakes body. They pointed us towards a place called Kir-Sabal, whose inhabitants might be able to show us the exact location of Omu. The jungles of Chult are hiding fascinating secrets.

06:51 pm - 02.06.2019

Up the third stairs we go. After having consumed one of the magical poisonous snakes that were crawling on the steps. Definitely unpleasant to get a psychic hit to the brain should your mind falter while consuming. Not recommended.

04:54 pm - 23.05.2019

Orange orchids. That's what you need to get up the second flight of stairs. With the solution out of the way, the problem this solved was that the stairs would crumble under your feet without the flowers, preventing the ascent. Only one more flight of stairs to go.

01:29 pm - 23.05.2019

I was right, there are puzzles to be solved here. There is no use trying to force yourself up the first flight of steps, the thorns of the undergrowth will just hurt you more the more you try. Our party only got up the steps once a Chwinga (small spirit in Chult) showed us that one must carry red parrot feathers while walking up the steps. I like those spirits, let's hope that they will also help us getting past the second flight of stairs.

01:51 pm - 22.05.2019

Reached Orolunga

After a weeks of travel the party has finally arrived at the ziggurat of Orolunga! Built to Ubtao, my god, I'm assuming that getting to the top will involve a challenge or puzzle of some kind. I will keep you informed.

03:08 pm - 20.05.2019

Today we went past an abandoned mine of some sort. We could not enter due to the entrance having collapsed.

02:38 pm - 18.05.2019

Based on the fact that throat leeches can be found in water even inland, I would recommend that you do not drink it like I did. It was uncomfortable. Thankfully the adventurers I met were going in the same direction as I and their paladin, Frank (her name is much longer, but I cannot remember all of it), could remove the parasite.
