Don’t waste food

It’s been some time since the ground shook and my tribe fell under the rocks from the large beast moving around. I seen light as I moved a large rock and a group of two small creatures two humans a elf and a bird were alerted to me coming out of the ground. They didn’t attack so I asked for water for trade. They were talking to me and I was not paying much attention to them until they said they were looking for what I was told to go get for the dragon. I started hearing a voice that I couldn’t pin point it’s location and they said it was the bird but the bird spoke just like me… it was very confusing. They let me follow them and they seemed to be unsettled and didn’t trust me when I told them how I survived so long under the rubble was by eating the rest of my tribe members. I guess they would rather let the meat go to waste.
 
The large beast got up and attacked us… I don’t know these people I should of just ran I didn’t think these people were capable of fighting something this big. They called it a baby tarrasque but for some reason I didn’t flee, it’s a good thing though because I had no idea what I was looking for … all I know is it is some sort of book but I can’t read so I guess I’ll bring every book I find. The elf got eaten by the creature and it upset the group so I forced the creature to swallow me and I was going to pull him out. I felt the muscles of The creature go limp and felt pulled to one side. I grabbed what was left of the elf and started cutting my way out and I was met halfway by the party cutting in… The tiny one in the group healed him back to life that was quite surprising. I harvest what I could from the body I had a bunch of the meat because it tasted like no other creature I have eaten my life, very tasty. After searching for quite some time the gray skinned little one found the book and was refusing to give it to me and when I grabbed it I could not pry it from the little ones hands she shows great strength. Noticing I made everyone uneasy with demanding the book I waited till they all went to sleep. In the night I snuck over and took the book put it in my bag and lay down like I was asleep still the next person walk for their watch and I tried to sneak off but they saw me and woke everyone. The gray one wrestled with me a bit I started to get out of it then a rope pulled me up into the sky attached to nothing I was hanging upside down I grabbed the book it was in my bag and said I wanted to keep it that it needs to go to the dragon Nowhere else. They all agreed afterwards it was weird like OK I can hang onto it. They actually summoned the dragon same dragon I knew they knew her before. I presented the book and the dragon was displeased with me because it was the wrong book it seems the bird was sneakier than I was. And I have no clue win but the bird swapped the books in my possession. They presented the book to the dragon and the dragon give me a task… To protect them and their journeys. I will not let Her greatness be disappointed in me again.
