Not much is known about the early life of Rey'viri. A kenku abandoned by family and raised by a Tiefling and Elven household in the Alezar region. From a very young age, he displayed an aptitude for killing, probably as a result of being taught how to hunt for food. At some point the family moved south into Ruxan and settled there. The Kenku was enrolled into Virdio's public schools where his talents didn't translate well into normal curriculum. Sure, he could calculate the trajectory of arrows against the wind, account for velocity, resistance and torque, but he couldn't understand the quadratic formula. Instead, he was transferred to a military academy back in Alezar for specialized training.
After a few years of training at this military academy, Rey'viri transformed himself into a full-blown contract killer. Despite being only a young child, his services became a high demand amongst up-and-coming politicians, business owners and the like. They lined themselves up in order to hire the stealthy bird, knowing damn well what the risk to their careers were if they were discovered using an assassin, and a child one to boot. But that was the way of Chromaticos. Survival of the fittest and those who fell behind perished to pave the way for the strong. During this time, the Kenku did many small jobs in collaboration with Torvin Kharne. Together, their notoriety skyrocketed, to the point that the rising stars drew the attention of the top brass in all of Draconia at some point. And one day, that top brass came calling.
Dragon Overlord Ralbas Cinderclaw approached the child at a meeting with another client that Rey'viri had. The client was dead, throat slit by Ralbas' bloodied claws. As it turned out, the client that Rey'viri had been dealing with was actually a competitor to one of Ralbas' business fronts. Ralbas commanded Rey'viri to sit and listen to his proposal. He offered to overlook the transgressions against his plans so long as Rey'viri dedicated his talents to the Overlord. With no other real choice, Rey'viri reluctantly agreed to it, in fear of his life. The first task that Ralbas gave him was to assist their mutual business partner Torvin and his family in assassinating Simeon Tinderhoof. The Minotaur farmer was becoming a thorn in the side of the Council of Dragons and needed to be erased.
Both killers accomplished the task, with Rey'viri being the one to ultimately take Simeon's life. The assassination of such a major political figure spearheaded the two into full blown stardom in the dark underground of Draconia's political dealings. But the damage of such a task had already been done in ways that wouldn't surface until years later in both of their lives. After a few years of taking jobs for influential figures of Draconian society, Rey'viri found himself a wife and plenty of enemies. While he did his best to keep her safe, it wasn't enough to keep her away from those seeking revenge against him. When she gave birth to his daughter, he knew that he had to do something to make sure they weren't involved with him in any way that would put them at significant risk. He sent them far away to a region where he wouldn't know where they were at. As much as the decision pained him to do, he'd rather that they grow up without him, rather than him live on without them.
His peaceful life was, unfortunately, interrupted one day when Ralbas approached him offering a chance to attend one of the semiannual Draconic Summits at Quirin Umer. After the attack and events that transpired, Rey'viri was enlisted into the Defense Force program with his old friend Torvin and some others.

Ace, I met Rey'viri and Torvin while you were still very young. They both had been causing trouble for me in their own ways for a few years. So, one day, I tracked both of them down. And I strongarmed them into a deal that they couldn't walk away from. I gave each of them an impossible task. The bodies that they helped bury that day became the foundation that our family stands on now.— Ralbas Cinderclaw
