Eldur is a spunky young Fire Genasi out to prove herself as an aspiring adventurer. Though abrasive and thickskinned on the surface, she's secretly a big softie who just wants to feel accepted.
Eldur is the unintended product of an agreement turned affair between a Genie from the Elemental Plane of Fire, her mother, and a Gold Dwarf of the Dragon Coast, her father, Flint Glergilder.
Their clan in the hills was not very accepting of Eldur, but Flint refused to give up or abandon his child. Instead, he and Eldur lived on the outskirts of their community. Even the dwarven elders had to concede that Flint couldn't be completely exiled. He was the greatest glassblower in centuries. His exports paid dividends which made up for much of the community's surplus funds and padded their influence with other clans in the region.
Eldur was educated, much to the clan's disdain, alongside her peers and trained at home in glassblowing by her father. She became quite adept at it.
Ultimately, Eldur determined the life of an adventurer was perhaps the best fit for her. With her father's blessing and a healthy coin purse, she left the Dragon Coast and now seeks opportunities to test her mettle.

Personal history
Eldur is the unintended product of an agreement turned affair between a Genie from the Elemental Plane of Fire, her mother, and a Gold Dwarf of the Dragon Coast, her father, Flint Glergilder.
Flint is a renowned glass blower now, but he wasn't always so skilled. In exchange for a blessing of superior craftsmanship, Flint promised his greatest work, his masterpiece, to the genie. His blessing is that all who encounter his works become enamored by them, wanting so desperately to possess a Glergilder Original that they may even be driven mad with desire. His curse, however, is that he will never be truly fulfilled as an artist. His masterwork must remain hidden away from the world. Flint himself is subject to the eternal torment of infinite fine tuning - never satisfied with his heart project because it can never really be finished.
Eldur never knew her mother, nor has Eldur ever cared to know her. Flint and his char-complected daughter faced a great deal of discrimination from their clan. A Genasi had never been born in their midst as far back as any elder could recall. Surely, she must be an ill omen.
Flint was strongly advised to give up his child - to send her away or else abandon her in some remote place. Vehemently, he refused. Instead, Flint lived as an outcast and raised Eldur himself. Much to their disdain, his clansfolk couldn't exile him. Without his fine works to export, the community would see a steep decline in profits. Eldur was bedgrudgingly permitted to receive her education alongside her dwarvish peers, though she struggled in a society ill-fitted both to her physique and her heritage. When not in school, Eldur trained as an apprentice to her father and became quite a skilled glassworker herself.
Ultimately, Eldur determined the life of an adventurer was perhaps the best fit for her. With her father's blessing and a healthy coin purse, she left the Dragon Coast and now seeks opportunities to test her mettle.
Just before Eldur left her clan in the hills of the Dragon Coast, a meeting was called to gather all the dwarven elders of the region to negotiate new trade agreements.
Eldur caught wind that one of the wealthier clans was planning to muscle out some of the smaller ones, stranding their communities with no means of income. Knowing no one would take her at her word, Eldur planned to expose the corruption by sneaking into the elders' quarters and procuring some incriminating documents.
She was caught in the act. When she tried to explain the truth to her own clan elders, they flung accusations at her. They called her a liar and a curse; a bane on the clan and a shame in the eyes of their gods. Infuriated, Eldur flew into a rage. She lost control of her elemental abilities and burned the council hall to the ground.
Many were injured as a result. She hasn't forgiven herself and hopes that a life of adventuring and helping others will someday atone for her mistake.
Education
Eldur received a standard dwarven education alongside her peers in her clan. She was also apprenticed to her father to learn glassblowing.

Accomplishments & Achievements
- Eldur has a modest collection of high quality glass and gemstone products that she made herself. For now, these are stored back at home with her father.
- Eldur still holds the record for most accurate long distance axe throw in her clan, much to the chagrin of everyone else.
Failures & Embarrassments
- Eldur once overheated a glass bottle project, causing it to burst and send glass shards flying. One of those shards left a gash over her left eyebrow, which left a scar that is still visible today.
- Despite her physical attractiveness, Eldur has never had a romantic relationship. This bothers her greatly.
Mental Trauma
Eldur struggles with a need to feel accepted and wanted. Growing up in a dwarvish clan where she was viewed as an ill omen and made to feel that she was at fault for her father's strained relationship with his community has left her in a peculiar state of unyielding self-assurance and, simultaneously, of relentless self-doubt.
Intellectual Characteristics
Though Eldur isn't exactly a scholar, she is far from stupid. She has no higher education, but maintains a keen awareness of her surroundings. Her intuition is usually correct.

Eldur believes in doing what is right, regardless of rules or laws that may be in place. She seems gruff and abrasive, but inside she feels deeply for others and wants to work toward a more equitable world.

Taboos
