Lucia was born to her family during a time of crisis. As Lucia tells it, they were forced to leave their home city of Ragosa before she was born, fleeing from riots that broke out after the assassination of their ruling Aspect. While they took refuge in a sea cave, Lucia came into this world kicking and screaming, loud enough to match the thunder outside. This pattern continued throughout her childhood. While generally mild of manner, Lucia had a strength to her that outclassed all of her peers, and many of her elders. That strength led her to seek employment in the gem mines at 17. One day, while in the middle of her shift, a massive quake caused a cave-in. She doesn't speak of what happened in those caves, but she came out forever changed, bound to the earth as an oread.
