We arrived at Foxglove Manor, and it is in a state of great decay.
The only thing of interest in the entry way is the moldy stain on the floor and a shrieking monkey head hanging above it (Which Billy has decided to add to his collection)
We enter the dining room where a large mahogany table rests. (That is MAHOGANY!!)
Each window is stained glass depicting different snarling monsters being drawn into a 7 sided necromantic box.
There is a long couch with a dust cover on it, the floor in front of it shoes signs of being recently disturbed with footprints tracking through the dust.
There is a faint whisper saying the name "Lori" and then a flash of memory "....what is my husband doing so late at night in the basement"
Billy tells me that for a moment there he thought I was his child. Strange things are happening.
The next room we explore is an old washroom with an ancient washtub, there is a scratching coming from inside of it and when we approach a blind mouse covered in tumors is found. The sound of are approach startles it but before it attacks us Kat comes tumbling through the ceiling in what seems to be the wash tub from the room above, and crushes the mouse.
We enter into another room that is a oak paneled chamber. There seems to be a lot of water damage. The feature of the room is an old warped grand piano that seems supernaturally decayed but as the sound of it beginning to play on its own echoes through the room it is found to have a perfect pitch.
Billy seems to be swept into a lively dance with some invisible force as I go to interrupt this a ghostly shriek rings out and the music stops. The statue in the entry hall springs to life the visage of a woman's face on it and a large scorpion tail behind. It goes to attack Inuyasha but after it misses it moves back into place and the ghostly look of it disappears..
As we continue to explore I see a glimpse of a forlorn woman's face in a dirty window.
In the next room there is a carved angel sitting in the fir3eplace, evidence of violence throughout the room. A Bookend has blood and dried flesh on one corner. A red and gold scarf that was draped over a nearby chair flies toward Billy and starts choking him but the moment we intervene it goes limp.
We hear a loud crash from upstairs so we rush up there to see if Kat needs our help. We begin to look into each room to find him. The first bedroom holds the faint sound of a child sobbing and more necromancy themed stained glass.
The next room has a thick spongy layer of multicolored mold in it., Everything that looked to be on tables or shelves seems to have been knocked off very recently, Kat has definitely been here.
Upon entering the next room I get a strong urge to attack Cyan but am able to resist until it passes
Two painting are uncovered of different members of the Foxglove family. Vorell , Cassandra, and Lori in one. Ander, Zendill, Zerill, and Ziva in the other. The temperature drops dramatically and the paintings change to images of dead bodies, one portrait erupts into fungus and growth.
In the dusty next room we see Kat about to slit his own throat, as Inuyasha goes to stop it Kat attacks him instead. After Kat is subdues he rushes out of the room towards the sound of crying. A small back room with a full size mirror holds a revenant woman, we are ignored as she stares at her reflection, until Kat smashes the mirror. She turns to us with a shriek and upon noticing the red and gold scarf around Billy's neck she becomes enraged. With a scream of "ALDERN!!" She attacks Billy. Kat is able to take her down quickly.
In the next room Inuyasha becomes visibly irritated, making mention of the smell of burning flesh. In his confusion he goes to leap out the window, Kat tries to stop him but he make sit through he window and out onto the roof. The weathervane thankfully stops his fall and seems to snap him out of his hallucination until Billy and I are able to fly to him and return him to the room with us.
As we continue through the house we come upon a library that has the sound of pages rustling through the room.
We decide to take a painting of a bull run and discover a loose brick in the wall that holds various treasures along with a copper key
After that we decide to head back down towards the basement. The stairs creak with age and the walls fall apart wiht earth coming through.
The only room that seems to be unaffected by the supernatural mold is the servants quarters.
The wine storage seems to be emptied out until we find a hidden nook with 8 bottles of vintage wine.
The pantry is full of thousands of rats, as they try to nibble on our toes I am able to set half of them on fire as Kat and Billy stomp the rest.
Next we see an iron door which we are able to unlock with the copper key we found. Inside is an arcane workshop. The books seem to be soggy and destroyed- How to Become A Lich For Dummies- 3 iron birdcages, from Pugs =Contraptions in Magnamar, hold the corpses of dissected rats. Three stained glass windows shoes a series of events. The first- a Necromancer, second- his dead body, third- his body being sucked into the seven sided box, and the fourth- his transformation into a Lich. We are able to recognize the man as Vorell Foxglove.
The unexplained urge to read the books comes over me, I see flashes of Vorell turning himself in a Lich and am filled with shame and rage. I am able to shake off the terror i feel at his actions and move on.
There are stairs leading down from here that smell of rotting meat. Cyan tells us of a vision before her of Aldern saying "For you!" before he is pulled down the stairs by Ghouls.
We follow the stairs down into a large cave system, the sound of rhythmic breathing echoes throughout.
The yellow mold that is on the walls is disturbed and releases a gas like substance which thankfully doesn't effect us.
Down one of the tunnels we notice ghouls trying to hide and get the jump on us. After a quick battle we move on. We enter another cave, this one smells the strongest of rotting meat which comes from the carcasses all along the floor. A large dire bat emerges and attacks us. Billy's Dirge of Doom frightens it and Inuyasha is able to quickly slaughter it. We further explore this cave and discover that one of the bodies is recognizable. It is a wanted armed bandit by the name of Shav who is responsible for over 2 dozen raids. Proof of his demise will bring us a pretty penny.
