Reeling from the snow monkey assault Rhossyn quickly followed the tracks of the thieves. Notably he pointed out that one monkey split from the rest, headed out of town. Understanding that it is easier to follow a group and better to take the opportunity of tracking down the solo monkey we traced the monkey's route to a small shack just outside of town proper. The shack wasn't impressive, but sounds could be heard within. Lizzi and I approached the building stealthily. Lizzi caught a quick glance noting that there was a small group of people inside, a dwarf, a fairy, a warforged, and a human. The monkey was assumedly passed out drunk in the corner. After a fair bit of trickery Lizzi was able to snag the statue (which they'd deemed worthless along with the rest of their haul) while Rhosynn and I distracted the party outside the shack. Unfortunately we did not escape cleanly as the fairy charmed and then subsequently robbed Rhosynn. It was only upon leaving that the situation became clear. We elected to leave town quickly, just in case more trouble came our way. Trouble still came though. A band of highwaymen attempted to rob us on a cliffside checkpoint. We were able to rebuff their assault, although we were forced to kill 2 bandits (one being the captain). The 24 gold that we'd collected from their bodies were given to Rhos to help recoup his losses from the fairy affair. A few days after that unfortunate encounter we'd found a bugbear pinned by a fallen tree on the side of the rode. After rescuing him he informed us that he was a member of the Explorer's Guild by the name of Ghovonm. We were rewarded with an IOU to be presented at the guildhall in Gran Magna Cir'cori. We doled out the necessary warnings about monkeys, thieves and bandits before parting ways. That night my alarm around the carriage was triggered. A swarm of aberrant creatures attacked us. Oddly enough they seemed to be digging into or through the carriage and only attacked in full force once discovered. We were fortunate to be victorious in the fight with the worst of it being Rhos' hummingbirds pushes the creatures into the campfire causing the stench to worsen. I'm grateful for moving through the countryside with such capable company, but it leaves me noticing just how much I relied on the guards of the Almeida Caravan for my own safety. The world seems a mite bit more dangerous than I thought looking out my window.
