Preparing a presentation

by Balvarax Ernid

Fourth year is a notable year. I suppose all of them are, here at the Academy, but this one is more so because we are proving ourselves worthy of continuing on to the most advanced subjects available to us. Walk before you run, or so I've heard said. I don't particularly understand the source of the idiom, as much as it's used. Must be a human thing. In any case, I have chosen Etiology as my elective this year. I have so many different stories from the Elders that I love to retell myself before bed, I will be interested to meld their events into the known world's beginnings. Vutazon had certainly blessed us all, but how was it? Where does Skythriss' Great Triumph fit into the greater timeline? Many have been the Vutazon triumphs, but the tales do not elaborate on when they happened, save maybe under which suzerain, which is not terribly specific on its own. So much richness to unravel! I have already sent a letter back to my Alithan to get copies of these stories to ensure my memory is not fooling me. Tomorrow, I plan to introduce myself to the heads of the History department and solicit their guidance in my choice of texts. I hope I'll be able to find out their names first.

Not sure yet how I'll end up digesting this for submission. Probably some sort of presentation? It would be much cooler than a paper. I do too many papers as it is. Maybe some sort of moving illusory diorama? Suppose I should formulate the story I want to tell to make sure it's even compatible as actual imagery beyond just that which happens in my head when I'm being told the story. Good thing I have all year, right?

I'm sure I'll still need to do a paper anyway. Kethssssaassss!
