consequences?

The sheriff and his deputies arrive at the alleyway. There are only 3 survivors , 2 are the abductees and 1 is a gang member. All others have been killed. We give our weapons to the sheriff and follow him to the sheriff's office. Leo speaks to teh sheriff and finds out he is at the mercy of the gangs running the town. Leo proposes a trial by combat, as the sheriff can't release us we need to be held accountable for the gang deaths. After an hour of waiting in the office a guy in a fancy suit shows up, he is making enquiries for the federation of magic about a magical disturbance that happened earlier today. I'm sure this is about me and the vision I had, thankfully no one noticed at the time,. He alludes to the fact that a team like us is being looked out for if we can keep an eye out, luckily we don't fit the description due to the "rich kid" line we came into town on. The sheriff brings a negotiation back to the table 1/2 million purse, and the combat will only be one of us. Leo adds accommodation to be supplied while we are in town.
 
As we are escorted from the sheriff's office we see David waiting across the street, Dan sprints across the street and grabs David by the throat and takes him to the sheriff's office. I bear witness to the sheriff about my abduction, being knocked out and tied up in tolkien. I leave the offcie after this, standing outside with Leo and our hotel escort.
