Dear Dad

It feels stupid to write this letter knowing you're not going to be conscious for another month. But I need to get some of these thoughts out, and the idea of talking to you feels comforting right now.
 
I'm not doing ok. I got badly injured when Strongarm attacked us. Floodgate says I sustained damage to my nervous system. My powers have been on the fritz because of it. He says it'll take some time to heal on it's own. Thankfully no one was too seriously injured. It just sucks that my injuries are going to take a while to heal, while everyone else seems to be getting better so much faster. I kinda wish I had inherited your healing. I haven't really been in the mood for baking either.
 
I'm going to bring Maria to Bancroft. Since you're going to be gone for a while, and with Strongarm still on the loose, I think she'll be safer here. Even if her mutation hasn't manifested yet she's still a mutant. Don't worry I'll look after her and make sure she's ok. I always do. And I trust Professor Bancroft to do his best to keep us safe. I know some people are frustrated with him for not jumping to fight. But that's why I trust him. And honestly I'd be more worried if he was more willing to start a fight, he looks after kids and is trying to lead us mutants. He has to be careful about what he starts.
 
And speaking of family. I may have met mom. I don't know for certain, or if I can trust the person. But a woman named Serenity, who was married to Commander Freedom, told me she was my mom. Not directly, but using her powers. If she is my mom, that means I have another sister who's attending school with me. Her name is Honesty. She's one of the new friends I made recently. We haven't talked about what happened yet. So it's a little awkward. Or maybe it's just me.
 
I guess in good news, I'm on a team at Bancroft now. We've done a few missions already. Some of them are nice. Some of them are really weird. They're mostly new kids, except for Quartz, who I think you've met. She was the crystal girl with the cool colored hair. Teen Eagle also joined our team, sorta. I'm not sure if he's an official student yet. But he's been put with our group for now which is nice. I'm not sure if you've met him for work and stuff, he was the leader of the All Star Youth. He's really nice and fun to hang out with.
 
But that's not important. I hope you get better soon. I feel like things are rapidly heading towards something bad. Like I have this feelings things are just gonna keep getting worse. And I'd feel a lot better if you were here. So please grow back faster.
