Mentality

Personal history

Amelia is the oldest child of hero and Protector Grizzly. She grew up in Houston Texas with her father and younger sister Maria. She was never told who her mother was, and no one would tell her when she asked.
 
She help raise her younger sister since her father was often busy with hero business. A role she simply became used to.
 
Being the daughter of a publicly known mutant was not easy. In Texas of all places this only really awarded her the ire of her peers. Which resulted in bullying for her entire public school career in Texas. Things like milk cartons and lunches being spilled on her, and her locker being marked up by classmates. Amelia simply bared as to not mark up her father's reputation by being a trouble child and fighting back.
 
On one fateful visit to the dentist when she was 14 when the dental assistant was taking x-rays, Amelia's mutation manifested for the first time. Causing quite the shock as she became incorporeal and invisible at the same time. After this, she was transferred to Bancroft. Where she has enjoyed the last 2 years attending a school for mutants, by mutants.

She also learned of her father's sister, Lady Grizzly, who is in prison at Alcatraz for murdering men at truck stops.
 
Amelia has also started to date fellow classmate Teen Eagle after a rescue mission to get him out of Alcatraz.
 
Amelia has learned that Serenade pretended to be her mother by brainwashing Grizzly. And has recently revealed this. Additionally, Amelia has also been told that former US All Star hero Sergeant Stars is actually her mother, by Sergeant Star's ghost.

Education

She attended a public school in Houston Texas up until 9th grade when her mutation manifested, and she moved to West Haven Connecticut to attend the Bancroft Institute. She is going to be entering her junior year of high school.

Employment

Amelia is currently focused on school and training, so she does not have a job.

Accomplishments & Achievements

Amelia does not believe she has any noteworthy accomplishments or achievements yet.

Mental Trauma

Amelia was bullied a lot when she went to school in Texas for being a mutant. This ranged from teasing to dumping milk on her at lunch to vandalizing her locker and school supplies.
 
Because of Strongarms several attacks; including when she sustained damage to her nervous system and half her team almost died, and when he murdered his own teammate, and Amelias former classmate, Scope. Amelia is extremely terrified of Strongarm, and and can barely stand to be around him.
 
Scopes death also weighs heavy on her. Due to its brutality, and that this was one of Strongarms students, and his ally. Who did nothing wrong, and Strongarm just killed in a fit of anger.
 
Amelia is extremely put off by gore and death. She'll stomach it for missions, but it leaves her feeling dizzy and naseas. She has an easier time if it's an enemy that gets hurt. But even then she still doesn't like it.

Morality & Philosophy

Mutants should look out for and protect each other.
 
People are looking for a reason to justify hating us, we shouldn't give them a reason to. Fighting back might feel good in the moment, but it's often better in the long run to find another way to deal with things. Because it's not just us who will face the repercussions, it's every other mutant that's being put at risk for our actions if we act irrationally.
 
Murder and unprovoked violence are bad, which she thought was obvious, but apparently several of her classmates seem to think attacking people is just a thing you do with reckless abandon, for the pettiest of reasons.

• The moment Poltergeist fell for Teen Eagle was when he asked her to dance in the air at the gala.


• Poltergeist and Maria were babysat by their elderly next door neighbor Mrs. Clara as kids. Who the girls regard as a grandmother figure, but has since passed from old age.


• One of the big reasons Poltergeist doesn’t like the idea of having a mother is because she’s spent her life without one until now, and she doesn’t like that they think they can come back into her life and act like it’s fine or expect her to be happy to see them.


• Poltergeist's favorite holiday is Halloween. Because she was born in October, and enjoys dressing up and making themed treats.


• Poltergeist hates pumpernickel bread. Something about it is just off-putting to her.


• Poltergeist admires her dad, and wants to do hero work because he inspired her, and she wants to be like him.


• Poltergeist was excited to have an older brother, and felt really happy when Chain protected her and called her his sister. She’s a little broken up about finding out they’re not related, as she was looking forward to having some sibling bonding with him and Honesty.


• Poltergeist helped raise Maria, as is a little overprotective of her as a result.


• Poltergeist had a crush on Quartz when she first met her, but it was more based on the fact that Quartz is very pretty and nice. The crush is long since gone, and Poltergeist regards Quartz as her best and closest friend.


• Poltergeist and Bronco initially started hanging out because they both spend a lot of time using the kitchen.


• Poltergeist regrets not joining in on the DnD club before everything went down, even though she still has no idea how to play. The others just looked like they were having fun.


• Poltergeist has all the birthdays of the Bancroft faculty and students (pre-campaign start) in a planner so she knows when to make them birthday cupcakes or cake.


• Poltergeist learned how to bake from Mrs. Clara


• Poltergeist has an uncanny talent for guessing what someone's favorite cake flavor combination is. She tends to, at the very least, get very close.


• While she doesn’t hang out with most of her fellow students often, she regards the majority of them as friends.


• Poltergeist didn’t think anyone would notice, or be too bothered by her death. She was pleasantly surprised to find that she was wrong.


• Poltergeist NEVER wants to return to Texas if she can help it.


• Poltergeist used to have long hair, but cut it short after a kid put gum in her hair, and just decided to keep it that way.
