Big Mam still refused to pay her, but she was able get a few paid jobs from the dude ranch - owned by a man names Buggy who was a friend of RedHair. She got a few summer jobs working in town, outside the reach of the big four but hated the commute.
Eventually, she got fed up with the whole system, and when she was offed a job out of state, she took it, even if it meant she had to drop out of high-school to get there for the start date.

- 81 Sept Victoria meets Killer on his first day of kindergarten. He is 5. She is 8. He has met his first very best friend. Killer starts to rides the church pick-up circle in the mornings with Victoria and the others to elementary school
- 82 Sept - 83 May Killer and Victoria sit with each other on the church pickup to school in the mornings. Victoria will sit with heat & wire after school until they get dropped off and then will move to sit with Killer for the rest of her ride
- 83 Sept - 84 May Victoria, Heat, Wire & Killer all start to sit together on the church pickup
- 84 Sept - 85 June Victoria's parents decided she would attend the 6th grade locally. She continues to sit with the trio of boys.

Nicknames & Petnames
Victoria is the only one that calls him KilKil. She also called him Mazi when he was younger. Killer never questioned her chosen name of Victoria, but rarely shortened it. He did stop calling her ma'am almost immediately upon her request (threats of violence to be fair. She's one of the few people who could make such threats and Killer still felt safe around.)
Shared Secrets
Victoria is maybe the only one who really knows how bad Killer's home life really is, although some of the adults like Pastor Kuma and Mrs. Eustass have some ideas. She was also the first one to clock Killer as queer and has kept his secret the longest; she never outed him to Heat or Wire, but did encourage their friendship early on with that as one of her main reasons. Killer has known the longest about her struggles to find a place in the community and how she feels ostracized by the rift between her family and the cattlemen. He's encouraged her to apply for school and jobs as far away as she can find, and was the one to suggest to the other boys to save up money for her so she could leave.
