For the Horde!

The Hand of Conquest, more formally known as the Thirteenth Orgrimmar Grunt Infantry, are a guard company stationed in the capital Horde city of Orgrimmar, tasked to keep the peace. The Thirteenth have cycled through many leaders, going through many different eras; formerly, they were incredibly agressive towards the Alliance and other groups allied with them, but have calmed down as of late after exposing treachery in their ranks.

Glorious Beginnings

The first known leader was an Orc called Grogkash the Elder. Scrolls and texts relating to its first leader have been lost, but it was then refounded under the infamous Phillip Perroy to act as a grunt unit which would be loyal to the Warchief, Sylvanas Windrunner. By the time this came about, the leadership changed from the Elderly Grogkash, to his son; Grogkash the Lesser. A Blood Guard of the Thirteenth Grunt Infantry, he was known to be cheerful at times, but nonetheless heroic, also known to be incredibly fond of fighting and feasting. A real Orc.   One of the Infantry's first assignments was dealing with an increase of Centuar attacks, notably in the barrens - which became a problem for the locals and trade caravans to and from Horde settlements, becoming more and more vicious. Its Commander was a brutal warlord and leader, a Khan known as 'The One Horned Lord'.   Grogkash the Lesser and his unit were victorious of course, easily slaying the Khan, but soon after the victory... it was revealed the One Horned Lord was infact a vile, powerful dreadlord named Garathraxxis, who also happened to be an old adversary of the Rotgarde.   Many more battles and skirmishes took place over the years, until it came to one final battle.   It is documented that during the fight, the powerful Dreadlord manged to stun every member of the brave Infantry, he then used this chance to cast a spell, slowly soul-draining all the grunts! The veteran Blood Guard, Grogkash the Lesser saw this unfold and he felt helpless. - With all his willpower and determination, and brutish strength, he broke free. He slugged towards his axe, brandishing it high above his head before he charged the sly Dreadlord.   He was successful in his attempt, breaking the cast of the spell and setting his soldiers free of the stun.. but it came at a price, the attack had blasted him away and had vaporised his skin by the sheer power of the fiend Garathraxxis. Only his bones remained.

A Molten Verdict

Months after the end of the Fourth War, close to Winter's Veil - a new threat emerged for the proud grunts, within their own ranks, no less. While the young Senior Sergeant Spix was still getting a hang of his sudden high position, the malignant Sergeant Gonrash Scorchfang has been acting as an 'advisor' of sorts, to the Goblin.   Together, they've actively been working on gaining the trust of the elementals localized within the Arathi Highlands, in order to work on a 'super weapon' of sorts, using the metal known as 'Elementium', which of course, was hard to obtain by normal means.   After their efforts have been bearing fruits, the Sergeants moved the infantry back to Dragonmaw Port, where the previously isolated infantry was made aware of a grave threat encroaching around all of Azeroth - none other than the invading Black Empire. The local Orcs were begging the grunts to aid them, as one of their own rose up to greatness only to bring forth the 'truths' to his own people. This blind herald was known as Lak'tuk, or 'suffering' in the orcish tongue.   The Thirteenth, with their rigorous code of honour and duty, remained in the Twilight Highlands to fight back this lurking threat, and succeeded - gaining the favour of the local Dragonmaw population with their main task.   A mighty gauntlet was forged - pure elementium, and the bones of a long-dead wolf, combined into a weapon capable of harnessing the power of the elements unlike any other ... nowadays, we call this artifact Legacy.   The malicious Sergeant, Scorchfang, was meaning to pick this weapon up entirely for himself - and Senior Sergeant Spix, in the blind of the plots of his orcish comrade, allowed Gonrash to keep the weapon 'for the Horde'.   Weeks later, the Thirteenth found itself fighting the Loyalists within the Eastern Kingdoms, as per usual, of course. Yet it was at this battle, that Sergeant Scorchfang finally made use of a chance, and killed the Senior Sergeant amidst the chaos of the battle, entirely unseen.   Not long after, the infantry was entirely in the hands of Sergeant Gonrash Scorchfang, and so the mischievous Orc's plans finally came to action ...   A new cult was rising in Durotar and the surrounding regions. Flames were erupting, raging across the farms of many innocent Orcs and Tauren alike. This malevolent group of pyromaniacs, worshipping the flames, were later known as the Molten Verdict.

Friendly

Many past travels formed strong bonds between the grunts of the thirteenth and the caravan.

Friendly

The Requiem of Sorrow aided them to defend Orgrimmar and Durotar during the Scourge invasion and mending the rift between the forsaken and the grunts.

Friendly

With both groups having a keen interest in the protection of the lands, the Thirteenth and the Stampede regularly fight together and share similar views.

Friends

The Bilgewater Battalion and the Hand of Conquest have shared a rather fraught past. Due to this, although they are meant to be allies with each other due to bonds of the Horde, the Battalion will always be cautious of the Thirteenth.

Neutral

The current Stone Guard, Grugs, is considered a close friend of Tenasa. This allows for renewed talks on important matters.

Hostile

The Hand of Conquest, representing Orgrimmar, is certainly not an unknown factor to the Oronaari, recent events have made them wary and untrustworthy of the Orcs.

Hostile

The two military forces have had more than enough hostile run-ins with each other, the Hand of Conquest being considered breakers of the amnesty by the King’s Cudgel.

Enemies

The Hand of Conquest has killed the former Captain, Blonzy Coinblade, of the Coppersail Corsairs - and made an eternal enemy with these pirates.
