Requiem of Sorrow

"ENLIST IN THE DEATHKNELL EXPEDITIONARY FORCE TO-DAY
MAKE YOUR WARCHIEF PROUD" -
Tattered Flyer, Deathknell
  Intro

The Requiem of Sorrow, also known as the Deathknell Expeditionary Force, is a Forsaken military unit based and operating in the town of Deathknell and Tirisfal Glades. The extent of their operations spreads to all of the lands considered to be part of the Forsaken Empire. The Requiem accepts all undead which historically served in the Forsaken Empire. Their goal is to protect the lands, safeguard the citizens in the Empire as well as prepare for the next conflict by rearming, retraining, and rebuilding forces of the Forsaken still loyal to the Horde.

Background

The Beginnings of the Sorrow

After the de-escalation of the Fourth War and the signing of the armistice, many Forsaken found themselves divided between the two sides: loyalty to the Horde and loyalty to the Dark Queen. Among the Forsaken who faced this dilemma was Sergeant Oscar ‘Jaws’ Melton and his militia based in Deathknell.   After the loss of the Capital City, the lands of Tirisfal were in disarray. The Scarlets had reemerged and loyalists ran amok - it was hard to tell who was an enemy and who wasn't. Jaws was one of such individuals. The Loyalists within Deatknell marched to fight for their Dark Lady whilst leaving him to lead the protection of an already ruined town.   This was when he stepped up and gathered civilians and militia-men to form the first incarnation of the Requiem.

The Requiem Rising

Some time after the formation of the militia, Alvina Rainwatcher, a dark ranger with vast experience returned from a campaign in Northrend and was assigned to take the lead of the struggling but growing Deathknell militia unit as their Executor. With her support, the simple militia became the Deathknell Exepeditonary Force also known as the "Requiem of Sorrow”.   The first major task given to the Expeditionary Force was to acquire the goods produced in Deathknell from the local citizenry and from their own homes. Their crafts, objects, and goods were all gathered and then taken to Orgrimmar, where they were sold to the residents or Forsaken refugees who wanted more national goods, while under the pretext of the Hallow’s End celebration. The action was meant to boost the morale of the refugees, earn some good public relations with the Orgrimmar citizens and raise the money for the eventual revitalization of Deathknell and essential equipment for the Expeditionary Force.

Pilgrimage Across the Lordaeron

Sometime after that, the Requiem took it upon themselves to take a pilgrimage across the cities of Forsaken Empire, starting from Deathknell, to Andorhal, then Tarren Mill, then the Sepulcher, and ending up back in the Deathknell. This was to sell the goods produced in Deathknell as well as to provide the protection for growing threats to the citizens on their way to said cities. It was at the start of their pilgrimage from Deathknell to Andorhal that they were ambushed by the members of the Scarlet Crusade. The fight ended up in a stalemate between the two forces and allowed for the Requiem to press on to Andorhal.   The rest of the journey from Andorhal to Tarren Mill was peaceful. However, as the Requiem entered the Sepulcher, they then encountered the Eternal Sisterhood- nightborne assaulted by the local worgen. After joining forces and slaying the worgen, the Requiem escorted the Sisterhood to their destination in the Hinterlands. After the issue with Eternal Sisterhood was solved, the Requiem finally reached the Sepulcher where they provided assistance and treatment for wounded locals who were beaten up by the rampaging, rotted-brain undead.   After solving the issue in Silverpine, the Requiem returned to Deathknell and ended their long pilgrimage across Lordaeron. But soon enough they planned their retaliation on the Scarlets. As they found out, the Scarlets which attacked them called themselves the Blood of Martyrs. By combining the Requiem's forces with the Highblood Myrmidons, they set to strike out at the heart of the Scarlets' territory. Yet as they arrived to battle them, the Dirge of Teldrassil attacked, surprisingly being more on side with the Blood of the Martyrs than their elven brethren. The fight was so chaotic that Sergeant Jaws was found missing after the battle.

Dutotar Disaster

While on a routine visit to Orgrimmar to check on the Forsaken refugees, the Requiem found themselves among unexpected civil unrest. Cultists hiding among the population, doomsayers speaking of coming darkness, Knights of the Ebon Blade roaming the streets, and a Plague threatening to grip all of the city. Under direct orders from Sergeant 'Jaws', the Requiem has joined the grunts of the Hand of Conquest, already stretched thin by the chaos, in keeping Orgrimmar under control, hunting down cultists and setting up blockades and Plague check-points.   But soon, the Scourge was on the move, and once they have overrun Far Watch Post with the help of the evil Quilboar lead by Rorg Razorboar, the Requiem was there to blow up the bridge, slowing their advance and making sure the Horde forces evacuate with minimal losses, even if they have lost one of their best marksman themselves. After many days and struggles against the invading Scourge forces in Durotar, the Requiem and the rest of the Horde forces have agreed to help escort a caravan of the Ronin Pandaren across Durotar, only to be ambushed by what Sergeant Jaws would later describe as "nothing more than bandits and ruffians"; in truth, the Forsaken behind this attack were the Rotgarde. A chaotic battle has ensued, with some of the Horde warriors falling, but in the end, the caravan has made it safely to its destination. While preparing for a large Scourge attack on Razor Hill, the Horde forces, along with the Requiem, got pulled into some strange realm of plant-people and insidious spores where they eventually broke free from by doing what the combined Horde troops do best: burning them all down.   Back from that cursed realm, the Requiem took part in the defense against the last Scourge attack on Razor Hill, as well as the Horde counter-attack that subsequently freed Durotar from the mindless army for now.

Friendly

The Highblood Myrmidons assisted the Requiem in their attempt to eradicate the Scarlet Crusade. They share the comradery the Forsaken and the Sin'dorei shared years ago.

Friendly

The Requiem of Sorrow aided them to defend Orgrimmar and Durotar during the Scourge invasion and mending the rift between the forsaken and the grunts.

Neutral

The Requiem helped the Eternal Sisterhood in their fight against the assaulting worgens and helped them reach their destination in safety. But aside from that they have no reason to be anything but amicable towards eachother.

Amicable

The Requiem of Sorrow helped them escort their caravan across Durotar during the Scourge invasion.

Unfriendly

The Dirge forces prevented the Requiem and Highblood Myrmidons from the eradication of the Scarlet Crusade by their apperance. While not part of the direct conflict between the Crusade and the Forsaken, their hatered for the undead makes them and the Requiem stand on an unfriendly relations.

Hostile

A group which the Oronaari has only encountered once before, in combat. An unknown factor as of yet, still to be considered hostile.

Unfriendly

Although they have not had that many chances to meet these walking corpses, they have definitely seen enough to make their opinions be clear.

Hostile

The enemies of the Lordaeron must be purged. And it goes for either side of the Conflict. The Requiem and the Blood is a fight between the living and the undead. The fight in which neither side will settle for peace until the other is annihilated.
