The Bling Islands

The Bling Islands are a series of small islands off the east coast of the The Continent of Frutuscore. The warm ocean that surround the islands, as well as the islands themselves, are hosts to many tropical flora and fauna, such as Lemon Sharks, Jelly Belly Fish, and Mangogrove Trees. And while the ecosystems of these islands are interesting, the most important aspect of these islands are their inhabitants. Small villages full of rich culture once flourished on these islands, living in balance with nature around them. Unfortunately however, this balance would come to an as the Bling Islands, their inhabitants, and much of the wildlife were forcefully brought to an end during the Jolly Genocide

Geography

The Bling Islands are a series of small, scattered islands located in The Pearl Sea. Each of them are under five miles in length and vary in geography. Some are lush forests while others are small mountain ranges. While diverse, many share flora and fauna due to each island not being too far away from each other. It is believed that the islands were all a part of one landmass before the created the ocean and made the Bling Islands into what they are today.

Ecosystem

The Bling Islands are hosts to many unique fauna and flora unique to the more tropical climate. The warm winds and currents of The Pearl Sea allow this life to thrive. Each ecosystem operates in a delicate ballet of balance; the natives to the Bling Islands knew this, which is why they did everything in their power to protect and live in balance with their environment.

Sadly, it didn't last however. The Jolly Genocide is estimated to have wiped out around forty-seven percent of the island's wildlife, sixty percent of that being unique species.

Localized Phenomena

There are a few islands that house small volcanoes, but none compare to Dragonspit Mountain. While the volcano lies dormant for now, many locals feared it would some day erupt and bring ruin to the world. In fact, this was the very belief of The Dragonspit Cult

Tidal waves, hurricanes, and typhoons can also be a problem in this region, but these are few and far between.

Fauna & Flora

Unfortunately there is no known official documented history of the ecosystems that once thrived on these islands. Through word of mouth and any documents that survived the Jolly Genocide, there are a few species and creatures that are thought to have existed, through the details of which are lacking.

Natural Resources

There was once an abundant number of natural resources, such as tropical fruit, fish, and wood. The only resource that remains are remnants of pearls on the island and in the shallow waters nearby that have washed in from the Pearl Sea. That is, if they haven't already been plundered by Jolly Ranch.

History

The true history of the Bling Islands is fuzzy; some believe the islands formed naturally through tectonic plates shifting. Others believe Kiwano, God of Creation, created them when he created the Pearl Sea. It's up to one's beliefs really.

Another unknown factor is when people settled there. It's likely people either moved there after Kiwano created the Pearl Sea, or, if he created the islands as well, they were suddenly stranded there when the oceans came in.

Until the Jolly Genocide, life flourished; now Jolly Ranch own the ruins that remain.

Tourism

Most did not know of the Bling Islands, leaving it's nature and locals undisturbed for decades. If the Bling Islands were still around today it would make for a wonderful tourist destination. Maybe one day they will thrive once again.
