The Chromatic Hoard is driven by a desire for freedom, autonomy, and an end to the perceived tyranny of the Empire's expansionist ambitions.

Origins and Motivations

The Chromatic Hoard traces its roots back to a coalition of planets and dragonborn races that had long resisted the Empire's influence. These disenfranchised worlds, on the fringes of the Silverhost's territories, felt their unique cultures, traditions, and resources were being exploited or subjugated by the Empire's relentless expansion. This discontent eventually coalesced into a powerful rebel movement.

The Rebellion's motivations are multifaceted:

Cultural Preservation:

Many within the Chromatic Hoard are fiercely dedicated to preserving their cultural identities and the autonomy of their homeworlds. They view the Empire as a homogenizing force, eroding their distinctive ways of life.

Their leadership is decentralized, with charismatic figures, known as Clutch Chieftains, emerging from various rebel cells. These chieftains possess a deep understanding of the terrain, culture, and resources of their home planets, making them effective leaders in the struggle for independence.
One of the most prominent Chromatic Chieftains is Seraphina Nightfire, a half black half red scaled dragonborn who is charismatic diplomat with a talent for rallying different factions within the Rebellion and forging alliances with like-minded systems. She is a wanted dead or alive by the Empire for a hefty bounty.
Another infamous Hoard leader is Draekorax, Chieftain of the Obsidian Clutch. His scales are as dark as the abyssus, glistening with an eerie, obsidian sheen. His physical presence commands respect, his obsidian-black armor is covered with magical wards. What stands out most, however, is his right eye and that side of his face, which has been replaced with a bionic emerald eye and metal mask that matches his armor. To have survived such a wound is a symbol of his resilience and strength.
