Can’t believe they settled in this dump, ‘specially after everything that happened. Or are we just supposed ta forget that the feds locked us up in here?

Long before the Terrans made their first relay jump to Tau Cerberi, the Osiryx Federation claimed a patch of land on Chatau's Landing for research and development. This patch of land quickly became known as the Li’Karo Compound.

Most of their early scientific developments came out of Li’Karo, but before long the Osiryx Federation moved their research and development facilities to more appropriate worlds. Most of the scientists were reassigned elsewhere. However, some were forced to stay at Li’Karo to oversee projects that the Osiryx Federation couldn’t move safely.

These leftover scientists were, for the most part, left to their own devices. Until UGY 5306, they would only ever see visitors in the form of inspectors from the Osiyrx Federation.

The Arrival of the Terrans

When Terrans made their first relay jump, they discovered that Chatau’s Landing would be the safest planet for them in the Tau Cerberi system to settle and make a second home. The Osiryx Federation, all too willing to offer the Terrans help so that they could settle into their new intergalactic lives quicker, offered to home them in the old living quarters at the Li’Karo compound.

For the first time in decades, the scientists at Li’Karo had other people to talk to, from Terrans to Osiryx Federation Enforcers. The Terrans and the Osiryx Federation scientists were content at first, happy to live amongst each other until other arrangements were found.

Things changed swiftly when the Terrans caught wind of the newly drafted Sol-Cerberi Concordat. Angry with its contents, the Terrans started to attack people associated with the Osiryx Federation. Their actions started off small but demanded swift retaliation from the Osiryx Federation.

The Osiryx Federation confined the Terrans to the living quarters at the Li’Karo compound. Unable to move around and surrounded by OF Enforcers only served to increase tensions and Terran anger.

Terrans started to act far more aggressively. From attacking OF Enforcers and scientists, damaging the main compound of Li’Karo, breaking and entering (in some cases, in an attempt to find potential weaponry to be used against the Osiryx Federation) and escape attempts.

After the Sol-Cerberi Concordat was signed, the OF Enforcers and scientists were withdrawn from the compound. The main building was permanently locked - only an OF official would be able to access it - and the Terrans were left to build a new settlement within the confines of Li’Karo.

Turning the Main Compound into Cerberus House

Eventually, the Terrans broke into the main compound by hacking into the Osiryx Federation’s locking mechanism and bypassing its security protocols. They managed to steal and hide some of the relatively stable items, but the Osiryx Federation sent a full Security Clearance Team to reclaim the rest before they could hack the rest of the systems.

Clear of research projects, the Terrans decided to do a little bit of redecorating. They had housing, provided in the form of the living quarters to the north of the compound. What Major Sinclair, Captain Ziegler, and Captain Sanz decided the Terrans still needed was a place to house their ships and build up a task force.

They would eventually go on to name this task force ‘Cerberus’, which would later become the Cerberus Fleet of the Terra Novus Corporation. The name of the task force also served as inspiration for the name of the main compound once renovations were complete.

The main compound became the Cerberus House, whilst the rest of the Li’Karo compound was left relatively unchanged. Within the Cerberus House the Terrans would spend years engineering new ships with vastly improved specifications, some of which were commandeered from the original Osiryx Federation research.

“Did you hear General MacNamara the other day? He looked about ready to bite General Deluca’s head off.”

“Hah, bet that was a treat for the new recruits.”

“Yeah, bet they’re hoping they never get assigned to MacNamara.”

Currently, Cerberus House (and the Li’Karo compound in its entirety) act as a training facility for new enlistees into the Cerberus Fleet. Cerberus House itself has a multitude of sections, including:

  • Training rooms and gyms
  • Private meeting rooms
  • Lecture halls
  • Flight simulation decks
  • The Cerberus Commons - a place for generals to discuss their plans in public view, or for those in the lower ranks to bring fleet issues to the table
  • Engineering decks
