Preparing Adventurous Hearts for the World Beyond!
Everyone starts somewhere! Countless adventurers in Ayun Sovos started where you are now — a place of learning geared towards preparing fresh faces for the wide world of adventure! Whether it's an illustrious academy with gilded halls, or a circle of community members doing their best to support the next generation, there's always a place you can pursue the knowledge you need to set out on the next — or first! — great adventure.
This school started as the latter, and is growing into something greater by the day, but we won't be keeping an eye out for gilded halls quite yet. Unless — ah, no, that's just some gold paint. Who gave that to the students? Man, that's going to be rough to clean off the walls.
Banding Together
Ringtale wasn't always the official school it is now, with its courses and logistics, and other miscellaneous things that often come with paperwork and forms; rather, it got its start as a humble community club, started by its three aptly ring-tailed founders: Soma, Chimari, and Wenry. When the school was yet in this infant stage, it was better known as the Iverradventurer's Band, functioning as a cooperative learning environment for denizens of Iverra who yearned to dip their paws and claws into the realm of exploration and discovery.
The club was an initiative spearheaded by Chimari six years prior to the official opening of the Ringtale Elementary School, and many who knew the club before will still affectionately refer to it by its retired name. Chimari, along with their two co-founders, took note of how often curious young minds would inevitably get themselves into trouble by jetting off on adventures they weren't prepared for, and the Band was formed the moment they agreed to put their expertise to use to educate these aspiring adventurers
before they go and hurt themselves.
Earning Their Stripes
After years of community service, the Iverradventurer's Band caught the attention of
Avsovos, which took great interest in their operations and local impact. The attention wasn't particularly comfortable at first, many residents thinking that the company would stick too many fingers in the club's operations, but this attention instead turned into commendations and even sponsorship, allowing the club to begin its expansion into the school it has become today.
The club quickly turned from a small, local affair into a resource pursued by even those who lived beyond Iverra's gates, and this growth only continued as their new sponsorship allowed them to utilize greater resources and more effective curriculums. Eventually, the founders of the Iverradventurer's Band found themselves in need of extra hands, as they began managing the new Ringtale Elementary School for Aspiring Adventurers. Now joined by three new instructors, Kiba'an, Hyuni, and Shai, the school has further rounded out its curriculum for fresh-faced students preparing for their first journeys abroad.
There's simply no way we can teach them everything there is to know! We just want to make sure they're not diving recklessly into things they haven't even begun to understand — but don't worry, we know plenty how much value there is in learning from your mistakes along the way!— Wenry Koasten, co-founder of Ringtale Elementary School for Aspiring Adventurers
Courses of Study
Study with the Founders!
Running the school certainly has not stopped the founders from being active participants in their community's education! It certainly helps that the subjects they teach fall in line with their own passions in life, which keeps them energized in a hectic day-to-day. When the Iverradventurer's Band was formed years ago, the founders centered their curriculum around what they thought to be the three most important things to prepare in travels: being well-equipped, staying well-fed, and being observant and knowledgable about your environment.
Tools & Equipment: Staying Prepared with Soma Ryleki!
Soma is a quirky lemuri artisan with a love for tinkering and experimentation. Though he loves to get lost in complex tech, he knows just how to ease inexperienced students into the world of crafts with the easy stuff, and he'll make sure you know your way around your inventory and equipment, and what tools you will need for any journey.
Cooking & Meal Prep: Staying Fed with Chimari Motera!
The school's cooking instructor, Chimari, is a friendly mustaia chef who has fed the community endless delights for years. Always seen in an apron with little creatures emboidered across its many straps and pouches, they are seldom seen without a meal in hand. Their teaching style is extremely hands-on, and encourages much taste-testing in class.
Herbs & Concoctions: Staying Observant with Wenry Koasten!
With a passion for magics and the alchemical crafts, this timid red-furred mustaia is eager to pull out charts and diagrams with bestiaries and herblore, and more, to keep young students informed on the world. Wenry will make sure you can tell your stoneweed from your earthpetal, and ensure you know how to craft yourself a salve in a pinch!
Additional Courses of Study
With the expansion of the school, the founders welcomed three new instructors to their staff, further expanding on the new adventurer basics with subjects such as basic cartography, stress management, and merrymaking. Adventuring was supposed to be fun, after all! Who has fun getting hopelessly lost, not sleeping enough, and not having a little song to sing around the campfire?
Maps & Navigation: Staying Oriented with Kiba'an Arick!
The school's cartography instructor, Kiba'an, is a soft-spoken individual with an eye for design and a knack for drafting. He'll teach you how to read a map, and maybe even how to make one, if you show an interest in picking up the craft for yourself. His goal is to make sure brand new adventurers don't get lost on their first journeys!
Rest & Relaxation: Staying Zen with Hyuni Sconet!
The rest and relaxation instructor, Hyuni, makes sure that our little adventurers are getting the rest they need to continue on their learning and trials. As the keeper of hospitality as well, he manages and tends to all room & board for students who come from abroad, and provides hot spring baths and other relaxing amenities.
Music & Storytelling: Staying Inspired with Shai Wyrthe
The resident bard, Shai, is considered a valuable member of staff for using music and storytelling to bolster the hearts of the young adventurers who come to learn at the school. She is often seen playing the flute in various corridors, always welcoming students to stay a while and listen to some tunes, or a tale or two.
You'll never be fully prepared for every situation, but you can be plenty prepared for all of the things you know you'll find out there. That's the important part! We'll get you ready for that, and make sure you know how to adapt when something unexpected comes around!— Soma Ryleki, co-founder of Ringtale Elementary School for Aspiring Adventurers
