Phlogiston (flo-JIS-tun)

A fluid that permeates Wildspace and to a lesser degree the Astral Sea. This rainbow-colored chaotic material flows in rivers & streams across the systems. Spacefarers sometimes called this material the Stream or the Rainbow River.
The streams of Phlogiston are used by Phlo Sails and make up the backbone of Wildspace travel.
There are many unanswered question surrounding the Phlogiston. It defies any sort of control study as any attempts at isolating and analyzing the material have failed. It origins are assumed to be somewhere in the Astral Sea, but beyond that are only a myriad of hypothesis with no proof.

A multi colored ever shifting substance straddling the line between gas and liquid.

Physical & Chemical Properties

Any attempt to extract Phlogiston from its natural streams leads to the immediate disappearance of the extracted sample.

Geology & Geography

This material is found all over the Wildspace, eternally cycling in enormous winding loops. Some of those streams emerge from or lead into the Astral Sea. The streams seem to be attracted to some larger astral objects like planets - yet no clear pattern as to why it bends towards some planets and bends away from other was found so far.
