Polye

Polye is a system that is occupied by the Fonian Mandate, although they keep themselves and others toward the outer system. The system used to be operated by VIs that call themselves the Shepards until they abandoned the system in massive sub-light ships.

The Shepards

The Shepards lived around the moon of Thallit, the only inhabitable planet, that they have constructed a massive ring station around. Their original purpose was to aid humans in the system before the scream, but after the destruction of the human settlements caused by the Scream they began self replicating without human guidance.

The Shepard's aided the Krass rebellion after encounters some of their members that stole the first spike-capable ship from Krass. Later, they aided the Fonian Mandate's assault led by those same rebels in exchange for the Fonian Mandate taking control of Polye and maintaining a quarantine around Thallit.

The Shepard's themselves had finished their ark ships and abandoned the Sector all together after the Fonians agreed.
