Angels/ Guardian beasts /Aspects

Ascended Animals that are granted a gift from the Ark/Roots . These animals have seemingly supernatural abilities that allow them to control their environment in a number of ways. Most notably, these accended animals are able to shapeshift into massive angelic beings resembling their animal counterpart in a twisted form, with sizes that vary greatly, rivaling large Abominations/Demons that can tower over large structures. These Aspects" appear in a flash of hot light as the creature takes a form resembling their original shape but having a larger volume and cracked alabaster skin appearance. As they continue in this form, they may increase in size; however, whatever strange, aberrant material they are made from appears to crack as they become more powerful and less dense, disconnecting from reality and appearing to burn away while becomeing almost ethereal. The creature is able to transform back into its original state; However, it requires the self-destruction of the aspect and a few hours for the body of the original creature to manifest within.
Despite the daunting appearance they are a contrast to the horrific demons present in the arks with the rationale of the gifted creature kept within their minds. This ability is often triggered by a high concentration of abominations and aberrant energy that is tied to the intensity of their abilities and size. For the most part, these gifted creatures are found roaming within and around arks in their transformed state, protecting their ilk from the various dangers present, but there is a small population of these gifted creatures living among human society, however cleverly disguised or even unaware of their abilities until they manifest.
A gifted individual can appear rather normal at first glance, without any signs of their abilities, unless they outright show these reality-altering abilities. Methods exist to test if a creature is gifted; however, this requires probing into the brain. Even without the transformations, these guardians have a colorful variety of seemingly magical abilities that manifest in a variety of ways.
