"This sheath of documents, mere paper, but enhanced with magicks to protect them from means mundane, natural and supernatural from easily being defaced or destroyed, are as important as your very life! Without them, your life, your continued existence is by no means guaranteed, nor protected by law. Such is the curse of the power of a Magister. We are rightfully feared, for though capable of many a great thing, we and we alone could also, if we saw fit, cause a Sundering like event and tragedy over a wide area. It is why you go through the training you do. It is why some of those you start with as apprentice-mates simply will not make it, may their souls find rest and peace when that inevitability comes to pass. Because ultimately our connection to the weave of the Aethyr means our consciousness, and even our subconsciousness are constantly drifting right along that edge between the protection of the Aethyr and the all consuming madness of the Void. Those of you whom recieve these treasured documents will first learn to hear the voices you didn't know constantly whisper in your mind and in your ear. For you cannot be strengthened against a threat you do not know! But then you shall be trained, molded, and hardened by the means appropriate to your school, to your Touch, to learn how to filter and block these maddening whispers out. To learn to simply transcend them, to learn to filter them from objective reality without thought or effort, as a swordsman learns the basic cut-thrust and parry, or how a master blacksmith has learned to stoke their forge. You will learn advanced methods to keep control even in high stress or difficult circumstances or even when exposed to the corrupting influence of Horrors, Terrors and Nightmares from the Void itself. Remember this license, the Tel'ni'vairi License, is not permission to exist. It is a binding agreement. Your continued existence, and the right to practice the magickal arts, in return for service. The service to the realm, to the world. Though we may be swept up into the struggles of our fellow men and women, though we sometimes end up on opposing sides of conflicts, ultimately when the chips are down and Voidlings walk the realm of humanoid kind? Purpose
These documents outline the details of the Codex Arcanis Magisterium in shorthand, as well as contain all the relevant information for the Magister whom possesses them, from name, title within the hierarchy of the institution, the Collegiate Order of which they apprenticed and were licensed under, as well as they base descriptive information, such as height, weight, race, gender, hair color, eye color, and a detailed and magickally finished portrait. Besides this it lists their signatory magister, as well as their campus of origin.
The purpose of these, as outlined in the Grand Magister's speech, is to provide permissive for the continued existence of a Magister. This system is in place because of the innate dangers of the arcane arts, the sheer potential threat they can represent, with their potential for doing things as drastic as tearing a hole in reality to the Realm of Nightmares should they lose control. This license and the systems around it are the direct result of the Birth of the Magisterium. The license is named after the founder of the Magisterium and the hero of every individual born Arcanis-Touched over the last near 1000 years, Elysia Tel'ni'vairi. A fitting legacy to go with all her others as it was her own idea and brainchild, refined and updated over the last millenia that has seen the license come into the form it now exists in.

They also bear special seals only visible to those of the Ascended by passing their holy symbol over the documents to see the stamps. This is one of many layers of anti-counterfieting measures upon these documents.
