Tanikazian
Tanikazian1 is a general term for the various dialects spoken by the Tanikaz-Dwarves or tanikazíans in central Adynía, particularly in Gedirkía, capital of the Sikíron Empire. These dialects form one of the two main branches of dwarven tongues descended from Halinkazian, the other being ancient Katargysian and its modern descendants in eastern and southeastern Adynía.
Writing System
Since tanikazian evolved from the dialects of common zameltoníans, few of whom knew how to read or write, the hieroglyphs of old are treated as magic symbols by tanikazíans, and there's no standardized way to record the different dialects. Currently, the language is mostly written using Sikíronian script.
Vocabulary
Tanikazian is notable for its highly specialized vocabulary related to the three traditional professions of most tanikaz-dwarves, namely shepherding, weaving and metalworking, such as having different words for metals depending on whether they're being heated or cooling down, the amount of rust or tarnishing, and what kind of glyphs the finished object has on it.
1Original icelandic: tanikazíska.
