King Hedfa Haab

King Hedfa Haab

King Hedfa (Green Shadow) Haab was the son of Prince Uda Haab and grandson of King Hal Haab. Prince Hedfa Haab was a highly intelligent, ambitious, and creative individual with a deep fascination for the esoteric arts of magic. He possessed a prodigious talent in magic wielding and manipulation, much like his father, Prince Uda Haab, and had a strong desire to explore the full extent of his abilities. Prince Hedfa's most significant accomplishment was the creation of the Dwarves, a new race of beings with unique abilities that were not present in their previous form. He believed that the shorter individuals in his community possessed untapped potential and that his transformative process would help them realize that potential. Although the initial intent was noble, the process ultimately led to the creation of a new species that had to live separately from humans because of the differences in their culture and life expectancy. While Prince Hedfa may have had good intentions, it could be argued that his actions may have had unintended consequences on the Dwarves and on society as a whole.   The creation of dragons, however, was a darker side of Prince Hedfa's ambitions. His insatiable thirst for power and knowledge led him to experiment with countless living beings, subjecting them to dark and twisted rituals of soul-weaving. His desire to create creatures that would serve the needs of mankind resulted in the creation of dragons, which ultimately challenged his authority and reshaped the course of history.   Based on this information, it could be inferred that Prince Hedfa was driven by a combination of ambition, curiosity, and a desire for power. He seemed to be motivated by a sense of creativity and a desire to explore the limits of his abilities. However, he also appeared to have a somewhat callous disregard for the consequences of his actions, as demonstrated by his willingness to experiment on living beings, and his lack of concern for the Dwarves' future when he chose to keep their existence a secret for over 1000 years. While Prince Hedfa may have had good intentions, it is clear that his actions had both positive and negative consequences, and that his morals were ambiguous at best.

Mastery of Magic

Undeniably, Prince Hedfa was gifted with prodigious talents in the esoteric arts of magic wielding and manipulation, much like his father, Prince Uda. Having mastered the intricacies of magic by the first year of the Age of Elves, Prince Hedfa devoted himself to the study of blood magic and the development of his own unique spells. It was through these endeavors that he succeeded in creating a new race of beings, known as the Dwarves, who would go on to play a pivotal role in shaping the history of the world.

The Creation of Dwarves

The Capital Islands of Hal Haab were home to a population of men who were generally over 7 feet tall, with some exceptions of men around 6 feet tall. Prince Hedfa, who resided at the Pyramid of Naab with his father, believed that these shorter individuals possessed untapped potential that was absent in the taller men, including himself. In 500AoE, Prince Hedfa left Naab and ventured north of the Makse Mountain Range to establish the Ka Ruin Fortress in a region known as Haab's Judgement. Prince Hedfa, aware of Valikar's desire to create life rather than simply nurture it, approached him with a proposal. He requested Valikar to use the power of their diadem to imbue him with the ability to alter the magic of the shorter men in his community. These shorter individuals were often ostracized and treated as outcasts due to their lack of height. Initially hesitant to accept the prince's offer, Valikar probed into his intentions by delving into his soul. Almost killing the prince in the process, Valikar eventually found no malice intent and concluded that the proposal did not violate the rules of The One.   With Valikar's guidance, Prince Hedfa learned to access the diadem's power indirectly by accessing the Realm of Contrast and channeling the power to alter the souls of his targets. Ten couples volunteered to undergo the process of soul manipulation, which lasted for 500 years. With the help of Valikar, Prince Hedfa transfigured each couple from men to proto-men, who were later named 'haki kehut' in Tahi, 'al yen' in Fadda, 'funde lǐrǔ' in Yǎknǔian or Dwarves. This transformation led to a new species that was shorter in stature but possessed unique abilities that were not present in their previous form.

The Leader of the Dwarves

Prince Hedfa, caring for the peoples he helped create - Dwarves - decided to gift them a language that he had been working on called Yǎknǔian - Common Dwarven. The Prince believed that due to their differences at a spiritual level, Dwarves should be given the right to choose their own fates, not merely follow the commands of Men. However, the Prince chose to keep their existence secret from outside his fortress of Ka Ruin for over 1000 years until their numbers had grown sufficiently enough, and were knowledgeable enough to seek out their own lands. With the help of the Dwarves, the Prince constructed the Eastern and Western Gates on Capital Island prior to informing his family (the House of Haab) of his exploits.   In 2,500AoE, Prince Hedfa informed his grandfather King Hal Haab and father Prince Uda Haab of his creation of the Dwarves and his intention of allowing them to become autonomous peoples. However, their responses were unexpectedly more positive; King Hal Haab who by this time had control of both Capital Islands, suggested that the Dwarves settle the North-Eastern half of the larger island. Prince Uda agreed and gave his son praise for his actions. Not obvious to the Prince at the time, but the ongoing wars with the other Kings had devastated the working populations of Men, verging on a crisis. With the added manpower of the Dwarves, the Kingdom could avoid catastrophe.   Prince Hedfa insisted that their race should live separately, not because they were inferior, but because it is what they choose, and because the differences in their culture are so extreme; one of those is the lack of longevity, while most Dwarves early at this time could live for more than 10,000 years, as the year went by, their longevity would dwindle to only 2,000 to 3,000 years.

The Creation of Dragons

Driven by an insatiable thirst for power and knowledge, Prince Hedfa of the Dwarves delved deep into the arcane arts of soul-shifting, seeking to create new beings to serve the needs of mankind. Though he had already mastered the manipulation of souls to create the dwarves, he yearned for even greater power and control. For over a thousand years, the Prince toiled tirelessly, experimenting with countless living beings, subjecting them to dark and twisted rituals of soul-weaving. Through his painstaking efforts, he succeeded in entwining the souls of a reptile, a horse, and a cave bat, using the horse as the receptacle for the arcane spells. The intense energies unleashed during the ritual caused the horse to burst into flames, but from the ashes emerged a clutch of eggs with bluish-red shells, pulsing with dark energies. These were no ordinary eggs, however. They contained the essence of the three creatures that had been sacrificed to bring them into being, imbued with the power of the arcane spells that had brought them forth.     Indubitably, the Prince was faced with a perplexing dilemma when he found himself in possession of the dragon eggs. For years, the eggs remained inert, devoid of any signs of life or activity, and the Prince was at a loss as to how to deal with them. After a century of waiting, the Prince's patience wore thin, and he decided to dispose of the eggs by casting them into the seething, molten lava of Haab's Judgement, hoping to obliterate them utterly. Days later, the Prince, ensconced within the sanctum of his chambers in Ka Ruin Fortress, was startled by an eerie and unfamiliar sound, redolent of the braying of a horse. But it was no mere equine that had made the noise; rather, it was the birth of the first dragons, born from the fiery depths of the lava pit of Haab's Judgement. These gargantuan beasts, covered in thick scales and sporting wings akin to those of bats, ascended from the mountain and pierced the clouds of steam that billowed from the volcano. Five dragons emerged that day, taking flight towards the southern reaches of the ocean.   Subsequent investigations would reveal that four of these dragons had settled in the volcanically rich region known to the dwarves as Finggu Ransu fi Pakne, while the fifth disappeared into the western skies, not to be seen again for tens of thousands of years.   Remarkably, one dragon chose to remain in the seething, molten depths of Haab's Judgement, opting not to leave the volcanic inferno. Unbeknownst to Prince Hedfa, the dragons were not mere beasts, but sentient and highly intelligent beings, with the power to choose their own masters. Thus, in his misguided experimentation, the Prince had inadvertently created creatures that would ultimately challenge his own authority and reshape the course of history.
