The Murder of Queen Yeffeg Heyuyi

Life, Crime

35043

The murder of Queen Yeffeg Heyuyi and her son Lord Unbab Gdeyaga Heyuyi was an act committed by the House of Babaheg

In the year 35043, the tranquil realm of Ngazomi asa descended into chaos as King Fiyet Heyuyi succumbed to illness, leaving a void of power in its wake. Queen Yeffeg Heyuyi, the wife of the ailing King, assumed the responsibilities of the throne under the mandate of her family. However, the House of Babaheg, staunch adherents to a tradition of male succession, plotted to eliminate her and seize control. During a journey from the Royal Fortress of Heyuyi through the Hyea District to reach the Gaye District, Queen Yeffeg Heyuyi and her son, Lord Unbab Gdeyaga Heyuyi, encountered a party of around 40 bandits. Accompanied by their house guard of ten swordsmen, the Queen's defenders swiftly repelled the attackers, ensuring their safe passage to the Gaye District.   The following day, the Queen and her son retraced their steps through the Heab District on their way back to the Fortress. This time, they fell victim to a cunning ambush orchestrated by archers disguised as bandits, supported by the house guard of the House of Babaheg. A barrage of arrows claimed the lives of half of the Queen's guards and injured her son.   In the face of adversity, Queen Yeffeg Heyuyi demonstrated formidable magical prowess. With her left hand, she deftly blocked incoming arrows, while employing offensive magic with her right, annihilating a significant number of assailants. Despite her valiant efforts, she succumbed to overwhelming odds.   Lord Unbab Gdeyaga Heyuyi, bearing three arrows in his chest, summoned defensive magic with his left hand and wielded his sword with the right. He managed to dispatch ten foes before succumbing to his severe wounds, collapsing on the unforgiving ground.   The aftermath of the conflict revealed a grim reality—only six bandits survived the deadly encounter. Subsequent investigations and interrogations of the captured individuals unveiled a sinister plot to assassinate Queen Yeffeg Heyuyi, backed by the House of Babaheg.
