War of Flying Horses

War of Flying Horses is the name given to the conflict in 1238 regarding an heir descrepancy the Naifesh Family between Balik Naifesh and Vilk Naifesh after Vizier Filivad's death, that needed to be interceded and solved by Grand Vizier Lebon I and the Yakim forces.

The Conflict

Prelude

After the death of Vizier Filivad Naifesh died without declaring an heir, his two brothers Balik Naifesh and Vilk Naifesh both claimed eligability to the title, Balik declaring that he was the most clear heir, and Vilk, who'd been acting as the Vizier's Hand, claimed he had been groomed and intended for the role. They brough the issue to the Grand Vizier of Cinder at the time, Grand Vizier Lebon I, who chose the Balik to be the next Vizier of Near Mount. declaring that "that was that."

The Engagement

On the way back to Near Mount Vilk Naifesh sent an assassin after Grand Vizier Lebon I and, on back of the black dragon Blackscale, destroyed his brother Balik's convoy, blasting jets of fire that consumed soldiers and wagons both. He made a point of hovering Blackscale over the main tent of the camp and reducing the whole area to ash.   The Grand Vizier, surviving the assassin with the help of his royal guard, sent out his armies.   The two forces met on the battle field mid-way between Cint and Near Mount, the Yakim's 14,000 against the remaining combined Naifesh forces of 9,000.   During the night, before the battle, Grand Vizier Lebon I rode the red Valerant behind the lines and on silent wings attacked Blackscale, killing the black dragon there on the ground. The battle the next day was decisive, the Yakim forces quickly routing the lesser Naifesh army.

Aftermath

At the end of the conflict Grand Vizier Lebon I sentanced Vilk Naifesh to a Broken Life, then stood up from the throne, slowly walked down the steps leading to the Vizier's platform, and struck out with Spirit Viper in two quick jabs which left parallel slits of blood on Vilk's legs. He fell to the ground, legs now useless, nad pushed himself up by his remaining good arm, crying and begging for death. After the sentence he named Balik's daughter Alin Naifesh as Vizier of Near Mount.
